Did anyone become what they wanted to be when they grew up?

When I was 12 or 13 I told the careers teacher I wanted to be an "astronuclear geo genetic physicist". She then spent 2 years shoving leaflets on how to become a pharmacist at me

I guess I sort of made it - I ended up doing a PhD in Space Plasma (in the near Earth environment) which sort of ties it all up in a way! (Without boring you with the details).

I wanted to be an engineer and became an engineer, though it turns out my real passion lies with finance.

Me too. Well, not "Mad", perhaps a slightly eccentric. Im still working on it as well. I have the slightly eccentric part down...maybe it is madness and I just dont want to admit it.

Yes. I wanted to be happy and the experince of that seem to elude me throughout my childhood.

I am happy now 24/7.
