Greetings! There are a couple of iffy questions on this survey, but for the most part, I liked it. Political Compass My results: Economic left/right = -3.63 Social libertarian/Authoritarian = -5.28 |

Sorry, I should clarify: Those results are from some time ago...last year, to be precise. I've just retaken the test, and my new results are: Economic Left/Right: 0.50 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -7.28 Incredible change! My view on business (and the ethics of becoming wealthy) were heavily influenced by Steve's blog, hence my change of view. |

Economic Left/Right: -2.88 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.10 I'm so near the middle of the graph, and i actually always wanted to be just in the centar of all political thoughts. seems that is the most objective and most empathic way of thinking. Only things that are pushing me little to 3rd quadrant are social matters like school and health care, plus misunderstanding with big multinational companies. |

As I was the last time I took this test, I'm pretty moderate left-right (depends on whether the particular test I take focuses more on gay rights or financial management - I mostly agree with Democrat's principles but think you'd be a fool to let them manage the budget) and pretty strongly libertarian. I think that part has to do with the fact that I'm smarter than 99.99% of elected officials.... -2 -5.85 |

Economic Left/Right: -5.50 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.62 Occasionally a middle answer of unsure or no opinion might have been nice. This is about where I expected to be. |

Everyone seems to have similar "Gandhian" political leanings, does everyone belong to the same poltical party in their country also? I would think these leaning correspond to the Democratic party in the U.S, the Liberal party in Canada, the Congress in India, and so on.

As for a political party, I'm not registered yet, but my plan is to register for the Green party. Originally I was going to be an independant, but I looked over some party platforms and I agree with so much of the Green party platform that I decided it might be a good party to register with. | |

Your political compass Economic Left/Right: 0.00 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.26 I've only voted libertarian so far, but depending on the candidate would consider voting for someone who happened to be democrat, or, in special cases possibly even a republican. The only candidate that I'd ever say I trusted was Harry Browne (love his books), and now he's passed on. Maybe he can preside via a oiji board if enough of us write him in ... |

I am close to Nelson Mandela, but more libertarian, it looks like: Economic Left/Right: -7.75 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -5.33 I am amused by the fact that the high majority of us are in the Libertarian Left quadrant, while our president (GWB) is extremely in the Authoritarian Right. lol |

I discovered this test several years ago (when I was about 15 or 16 I think), and since then I have been moving slightly to the right of the economic axis (now I am at -6.88... ) and sinking to the bottom of the social liberties scale (now -7.38) I have always thought that being in favor of social liberties was a sign of maturity and consciousness, and this seems to be confirmed by the results posted on this forum! Economic Left/Right: 1.00 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -0.92 I see that there is a swing from Economic Left to Right across the board, but most of us are into less Government intervention/authoritarianism and want our freedom - less regulation please! Let us make our own decisions! And don't hinder those facilitating our choices. |
