I know that some women who do porn are acting out because they were abused, or they were coerced by some manipulative man in their life. But for me, it just seems like a fun and easy way to make some money.

I LOVE sex. I'm not a sex addict, but I have had some one-night-stands and other various sexual adventures. I'm not in a committed relationship right now, and I'm feeling empowered and free. I feel like I might make the jump.

If anyone has some warnings or insight, I'm all ears. Unless I have a complete change of heart, I think I'm going to dip my toes in by doing some amateur porn, and take it from there.

i have known people that have done and filmed porn....amateur or otherwise....not glamorous....it is work like anything else...

the final product does not reflect the reality.

As a fellow woman, I try it once to see if you like it.

I watched a show on WeTv (it's something like Lifetime) about women working in the adult film industry. Not only did they interview actresses, but they spoke with female directors, marketing executives, and producers.

I found a link on YouTube that airs that episode. The name of the episode is called Secret Lives of Women: Women of Erotica. There's no nudity of course as this was a show produced for cable television. It's really just a mini-documentary on the realities of this particular film industry. For some reason part #1 of the documentary does not play, so I skipped to part #2.

I'm not sure it's either fun or easy but that's for you to find out.

Making a movie is not the same is watching the end product. It's work, sometimes great and most of the time routine, boring, waiting.

I suggest you talk to some actors (M/F) before you decide. Have you considered that family and friends may see the movies you're in? How would that be for you? For them?

I'm not looking to work for a huge porn company or have sex with strangers (um, at least not right away).

I'd like to do some amateur stuff. I found at least one site that looks pretty tasteful, personable, and pays amateurs for their videos and sells the DVDs. I have at least one male friend who would LOVE to do this with me.

They probably don't pay very much though. I wish I had the know-how to run my own membership site.

Why not partner up with someone who does have that knowledge and split the profits until you do know?

You might consider doing some webcam shows to get a taste of what it feels like to perform on demand and be paid to have sex. That seems like an easy way to try it out without investing too much time or effort (and without having DVDs in stranger's hands if you decide you're not happy with doing it).

Good point. Sharing photos will get them spread all over internet. Live shows are probably less vulnerable to that symptom.
