grad school will still be there if you want to go another time. don't cancel grad school until you get the job though many degrees offer night/saturday classes for folks who work full time. when i was in high school, one of my english teachers was working on her Master's as she taught. people make it work. |

most teachers will give you a WP - showing you withdraw with a passing grade. but now that you've said a bit more i am not sure you really want to quit school. have you asked your inner self which option is aligned with your best interest? have you made a list of the reasons to stay in school and cancel the interview or withdraw from school and take the job? it may be a moot point, it depends on how the interview goes, but doing the pro/con thing may bring you more clarity about what you want than you seem to currently have. |

Thanks for your advice.. I was just worried about what others might think instead of thinking about my best interest. I am also currently student teaching in order to get another teaching certificate. I was just worried about quitting and being irresponsible. However, I really do want to go to that job interview.I don't know what the outcome will be, but I have to try because I have been waiting for that. It is really hard to get a job nowadays.

you're welcome what we think, what others in your life think, is not as important as what you think is the best thing for you. if you tell a friend of your choice and your friend judges, says oh, what will people think?... maybe not such a good friend after all. we won't be there for the consequences of your decision, which is why what feels in your heart to be the best thing - is what matters. quitting school because you have landed a full time position doing what you are passionate about... is hardly irresponsible. even having an interview for a full time position is a bit of an accomplishment, especially with the current job climate. i hope it goes well for you! |
