Default Toronto

Not sure if this is the right board for this, but I had no idea where to put it. It's going to contribute to my overall character though...

So I decided yesterday I want to move to Toronto. I live in Utah, have lived here my whole life. Yesterday I was watching a youtube video that showed toronto, and it just struck me that I want to move there. It was extremely powerful, like I knew right when it hit me that I needed to move. I just feel like I need to go out on my own and live. I'm working on making some money from blogs, and I figure in a few months to a year I'll be making enough to support myself. This is when I plan to leave. I plan to leave everyone and everything I know behind and kinda just start over.

What do you guys think of this? Have any of you experienced a feeling like this and went with it? On a side note, has anyone been to Toronto? :P

-Mike

P.s.-Mods, if you want to move this, feel free.

I had the same thing, but with mountainbike riding...not moving town. I was watching a mountainbike comp on t.v, and I had such an overpowering physical response to it...excitement coursed through my whole body and I just knew it was for me...even though I detest most sports, and always have.
I tried it a few years ago in Whistler mountain B.C Canada, and loved it so much...I even did it on my own and left my brother behind to tend to his flat tyre halfway up the mountain...I couldn't wait for him...I just went down and survived it...it was AWESOME:

Hi Mike

If your feelings are strong enough that you want to make the change, what do you have to lose? Enjoy life and take a chance. Take the trip up and see if you still have those feelings? If not Toronto; perhaps another city.

As for Toronto, I've lived here most of my life and I LOVE this city. We have a large multicultural population, a fairly low crime rate (70 murders last year, pop. 5.2M includes suburbs), summers are great with lots of festivals and temperatures in the 80's and 90's, winters are fairly mild and depending where you live transit is accessible 24 hours. If you live downtown you don't really need a car. The downside is real estate is expensive in the city.

Hope that helps.

Hey buddy. I lived in Toronto for almost three years. Right now I live in Waterloo which is only 2 hours from the city.
First of all I suggest you visit the city and see what you think about it. Don't act impulsively and regret it later.

However I can say many good things about the place but like Lynn007 said real estate can be a bit pricey. You may find a decent apartment with a roommate for about 800CDN.

Good luck.
