Default My first video blog: The Purpose of Life.... :)

Hey everybody,

Just wanted to share with you my first video blog, "the purpose of Life".

Youtube - KB on The Purpose of Life

Not trying to be spammy, but I'm happy with how it turned out so I wanted to share. Your grow and glow points are appreciated! Here's some questions for you:

How would you market this video?
What topic would you be interested in for video blog number two?
What do you think of the length - too short / long or perfect length?
Do you like the ratio of b-roll shots to my headshots?
Who do you think my target audience is?

Thanks guys!
xox!

Thanks Seek & Illusion! I just added some questions to the post that perhaps you could also comment on.

I think the length is ok, and I like the b-roll shots, it makes it like a music video.

I would suggest adding pauses when you speak on the video to let people reflect on the video. As it was, there was no time to reflect on what you were saying since you kept on talking without pause.

Good point Seek. I had considered that too (ahh... toastmasters training!). My only concern was the overall length - you know how when you're on youtube and you have a tendency to watch shorter vids. Anyhoo, I will keep it in mind.

I also missed pauses like seeker.
Let your listeners enjoy the things you say.

You can't cut pauses to save time.

The second issue is that the video doesn't have a high energy start. In youtube you have to win your viewer at the beginning or the viewer usually leaves. At 0:30 you hadn't do more than announced what you want to speak about.

It's not like a toastmaster speech where they have to listen to you.

Talking about this in terms of “bad news” or “bad judgment by business leaders” seems archaic. It’s like describing World War One as “a serious diplomatic concern.”
Bruce Sterling about the financial crisis.

I thought it was great first video. Seeker is right though about the pausing. I didn't really have time to absorb what you were saying...but didn't matter too much because your energy and vibrancy was captivating...but if you want to keep your audience on for the long run then yes pausing will help

I think you will have a great chance with online social media, good luck with it all
