Default Three question interview

If you were planning to interview different people from different cultures and backgrounds, with the goal of trying to learn more about this world and why we are here, and you could only ask three questions, what would you ask?

Sure, I'll take a crack. What I'd most be interested is what moves people -- their desires for themselves and the world, their fears. Maybe something like:
  1. If you had no obligations, no worries, and all your needs were met, what would you spend your days doing?
  2. If you had the power with a word to change one thing in the world, what would it be?
  3. What would it take for you to sleep easily the rest of your life?
Hmmm...maybe scratch those. Now that I think about it, coming up with questions that could be profoundly revealing isn't hard. Coming up with questions that could be profoundly revealing that most people won't just make up the most profound-seeming answer they can imagine is what's hard.

But I think...maybe all you need to ask is the question you just asked. Then optionally turn those questions back to the interviewee.

Thanks for your reply.

I am taking a long trip, initially through Asia. I will be spending time relaxing and seeing the sites, but I also want to do something that will be interesting and hopefully beneficial to other people.

This is just one idea that I have come up with and I think it would be fantastic if I could pull it off.

Well if you do it, bring a video camera and document it, whatever questions you decide on. I think you're onto an interesting idea.
