Over the past few years, I have become active on this, and other Forums, with the intention of establishing myself & my philosophy in these public locales. Most of the threads I have begun focus on a paradigm-shift towards a direct and honest, unrepentant representation of your interests. I am dedicatedly attempting to pass on some wisdom and insights to 'The General Public' and I worry that a lot of people might not understand WHY I am doing this in this way, directly addressing and responding to all of you, rather than merely publishing books or videos or what-have-you. I have been advised by my partners and friends that I'm not likely to be taken as seriously if people are not being made to pay for my advice and council, but I am hoping for the time-being I can supersede their fears - to find a way to ensure my work doesn't get overlooked or fall-upon deaf ears, just because it is being disseminated without cost. So here goes a preamble which I would HOPE will help you all understand my motivations on my publishing the things I have, and expect to continue to, online for free: PLEASE FOLLOW THE LINKS IN THE TEXT, so that you can more fully appreciate what I'm trying to explain! I VERY SELFISHLY WANT to watch you all become all you can become, and to influence your future in the most positive ways I can. My desired payback for this? YOUR UNDERSTANDING OF MY MOTIVATIONS, which ultimately I am pretty-damned sure you shall (and certainly some do already). It's essential that you remember that I do this holistically to suit myself - that I experience profound existential joy, satisfaction, and comfort from facilitating a better life for people. I don't want your gratitude - but I will accept your recognition & appreciation, if you determine it is warranted. My goal is that you will grow to recognize and appreciate the fantastic, life-affirming experience WHICH I GIVE TO MYSELF in mentoring people, and that you will wish to experience it for yourself, over-and-over again, with the people you chose to mentor down the line. In this way, I pass along the Bodhisattva role; this is a gift which keeps on giving... (and unlike herpes - The OTHER gift which keeps on giving - THIS ONE FEELS GOOD!) Life is a LONG journey, it begins when you do, and ends along with you just as surely. Along the journey you grow, learn, adapt, experience, contemplate, interpret, consider, modify, and become yourself - repeating the aforementioned series of activities (...grow, learn...) again and again. Lather, rinse, repeat. THIS CREATES THE FUNDAMENTALS OF YOUR 'INNER GAME'. I am currently the person I want to be - but this in no-way excuses me from running through that series, expanding myself, reconsidering previous conclusions, redefining my perspectives, and ultimately becoming more and more like me as I go. I am certainly NOT 'the best me I can envision', but I _DO_ like myself as I am, and I will continue to like me until or unless I determine I am failing myself. When you truly believe that you are the person you want to be, even if that means that, like me, you are just continuing upon our long journey to become the most like our ideal-selves as we can be, you will have ARRIVED. (Ironic, that 'to arrive' signifies not reaching a destination, but rather a sense of wholeness, of actualization, entirely within ourselves! When you 'arrive', you too will feel the overwhelming urge to aid other people-of-merit in the expansion of their realities - to help the next generation of mentors-to-be, so to speak - to become the Bodhisattva for them. My one request - don't get ahead of yourself! Only you will know when you have 'arrived' - don't rush it; don't punish yourself for not-being-there-yet; just work through life's challenges and SUDDENLY you'll know. It will be an epiphany, a 'shibumi' moment; you'll know. Meanwhile, find your satisfaction in the knowledge that you're on the right path, and that with each passing day, with each new discovery, you are progressing upon your journey - and if you need to have a baseline against which to compare your progress against others, walk into a fast-food joint and speak to someone your age who works there about their life. Ya follow? Very Sincerely, Johnny Soporno Worthy Playboy & Lifestyle Guru
