Ideas for career?

So I just read Steve's article "To Thine Own Self Be True."

He suggests working out who you are at your core and building a career to express those things.

So I wanted to brainstorm a few things and see if anyone can suggest anything.

So, at my core I'm about

Innocence/Authenticity/inner truth

I use Innocence to mean the natural state of man before all the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and social conditioning comes in. I consider the true nature of humanity to be totally positive, harmonious, loving, and happy, with all suffering and cruelty being stuff that is piled on top. It's anti-conformism and pro free expression.

Protection

Injustices make me furious. If someone takes advantage of someone else I will do anything to stop them. It's a bit of a conundrum for me because we live in a society which is built on a foundation of injustice, which is why I am basically an anarchist.

Truth

I love exploring and discovering new wonders. I love the feeling of awe when confronted with a mystical truth. I used to be drawn to science for that reason, while nowadays I'm more interested in exploring the nature of reality from a spiritual point of view (I still love science though).

Happiness

I believe in a perfect happiness, a simple but incredible joy and gratitude for being alive. It's a feeling so strong you feel like you're going to burst. I felt it once, before going into my dark times, and finally now I'm starting to feel it again. It's so sad, because this sort of happiness is free and so easy to obtain. Yet people think they need to struggle.

Empowerment

I love to grow stronger and enjoy freedom. Learning skills is a great way to do this, or personal growth. I hate confinement. For this reason I prefer to make money working for myself. In fact if I were to be confined to a slave job for the rest of my life, I would kill myself, and I mean that sincerely.

However, there are plenty of ways to express these qualities. You can basically express them in everything you do. So, to figure out a career for you, you need a bit more.

What do you love doing, for example? What do you feel naturally attracted to doing very often?

The "what do you love doing?"-approach totally did not work for me personally, because I love so many things and was unable to make a choice. I listened to my intuition, and that solved the problem. It was a process that took several months though.

So my advice is to get in touch with your intuition and let it guide you towards a career that's aligned with your highest path and purpose.

Alternatively, I recommend a Career Clarity Reading with Anna Conlan. She can tell you what your soul characteristics are and which careers would be more or less aligned with that. Anna is a clarity bringer and specializes in career issues.

Btw, what about this Reiki thing?

It's probably a cliche to say now but simply put figure out what you would do for free and then figure out how to make money doing it.

I am the same

I had one very recently! Hehehe, I saw your testimonial on her site. Anna is great.

She's helped me a lot but she talked mostly about my path in the long term. She went over my soul gifts of course, some of which I've put up there (she said I belong to the Blueprinter soul group, who have in our memories the original "blueprint" of how the earth souls were meant to be. Hence my interest in Innocence.

A guide through her also told me that English teaching is good. But she didn't say why. I don't get it. The last time I tried teaching English it didn't really flow for me. Also I earn more doing energy healing.

PS can I ask what soul group are you?

Did I tell you? I've been doing healings professionally. I threw the reiki rituals out the window and developed my own healing style which I now just call "intuitive energy healing". I really think I can support myself through it, and that's exciting!

Nevertheless, I somehow feel that it's not quite it. Maybe it's a part of "it", I can really see myself doing several different things. But something's still missing.

OK. Then I recommend the book "Unlock your Intuition" by Andrea Hess to you, or any other product or course on Intuition by Andrea (especially a course called "Ignite your Intuition). She's a great teacher. Once you become able to communicate with your HS and spirit guides on your own, you can ask them any question about your path and career choices. You will also feel guided a lot more, and naturally go towards what you are here to do. That was/is my experience.

Wowow, damn cool! I'm not formed in Reiki, I learned some Quantum Touch, but I also developed my own healing style, which has no name. I don't do it professionally though. I practice as much as I can, but don't have many guinea pigs. I totally love doing it! It feels so wonderful.

I'm trained in the fourth energy center which is no surprise. Anna says I'm a natural born healer. My guides tell me to trust my abilities more and to do it professionally, but I don't feel that I'm able to do that yet! Same with psychic work. They want me to become a psychic but I don't dare yet.

Which energy center are you trained in?

We really need to meet.

Spontaneous comment: if you already know one part of it, why not develop this part for now and let the rest come to you in its right time? You can start with building an intuitive energy healing practice now, can't you? Maybe this is even the condition required for you to expand some more.

I'd say, quit thinking theoretically and take action on what's visible to you right now.

The 5th! Yes, I can see you're the 4th, it's obvious My one seems to be a bit less clear. Erin told me something similar, and it surprised me. I suppose my love of authenticity is related to the 5th, though.

That's tricky. I'm in Bordeaux right now. I won't be at home in the next few weeks.

The book is excellent, if you ask me. Andrea first teaches you to ask your Higher Self yes/no questions with a pendulum. Then you learn to feel the answer without the pendulum. Then you identify your main intuition "channel" and start asking open-ended questions. In the end you connect to your spirit guides. It's a very practical book with exercises. It also takes several weeks to work through it. But if you are ready to put in the time and effort, it's precious!

If you want to connect to your guides quicker, there's a free spirit guide report on Andrea's site (Empowered Soul: Develop your intuition and clear negative energy through Soul Realignment) and also one on Slade Roberson's site (Shift Your Spirits). I think both are valuable, but for me personally they weren't enough. The book made the big difference.
