Default Aren't high level darkworkers just lightworkers?

It appears that high level darkworkers and high level lightworkers are exactly the same type of person, with extremely similar motives and identical actions. I consider Ayn Rand a high level darkworker. She became a philosopher to make money, to do what she loved, and to receive support. She ended up helping those who were suffering. Had she started out as a lightworker, she would have done it to help those who are suffering, and would have ended up making money, doing what she loved, and receiving support.

I thought you had to use fear and manipulate people in order to be a 'darkworker'? Maybe she didn't polarize until later.

It depends on who you ask. To paraphrase Asmoday, darkworking is characterized by fear and manipulation as much as lightworking is characterized by blind devotion and fanaticism. In other words: not at all, though such tactics are permissible for those on the path.

I'm hard pressed to tell the difference between those of a high enough level. There is a clear difference; how you get where you're going has an obvious impact. One can't help but be shaped by the content of their journey, but the ways in which both lightworkers and darkworkers can be shaped are surprising.

As an aside, I consider Dr. Killinger from the series "The Venture Bros" a fine (if humorous) example of what a high level darkworker looks like:
