Default Life's Purpose != Career Message!

I just realized what I think I've had wrong for a good while. I thought that the career message (for example, Steve's message is about growth) was the exact same thing as your life purpose.

However, tonight while reviewing Steve's book, I realized his life purpose is stated quite different then his career purpose, his stated life purpose had nothing to do with growth or helping people grow!

When I noticed that, it made a huge amount of sense. Combining the two makes it like your life purpose is about your career, when it doesn't have to be. Your career should be about expressing the message you want to express, but your life purpose while related doesn't have to be the same. I like that. It's like your life purpose is about who you are as a person and what you are here to experience, while your career message is about what you want to express and communicate to others in a career.

What do you think?

Shouldn't your career message be a reflection of your life's message?

Yeah, perhaps a reflection, but not the full life's purpose. A message is what you transmit to others, your life's purpose isn't just about what you transmit to others, it's also about how you're going to live your life and what your whole life is about. That's what I think I'm realizing now.
