I'm 20, male, did an amateur strip contest last night in a gay male strip club(lotsa girls go in there too). I'm straight. I won the contest and they offered me a job. I took it, I'm gonna be stripping for a while to save up a ton of money to open a business.

It's fully nude, what do you all think about this as far as character goes? I think it's completely acceptable and fine, i'm just wondering what the SP people think.

What you take from the experience is more of a measure of your character. And perhaps even more interesting will be how you relate to the world once you have the experience.

How will you treat those that disapprove of your choice?

I think it is ok btw, I don´t see anything wrong with stripping (for men or women, as a male or female, straight, gay or something in between)

Nope, I feel no problem with stripping for men. I dunno, I guess it's just what I heard a bunch of last night "Oh he's a straight dancer, oh he's gay" etc. and my friends reaction was "Wait you're just gonna dance for guys?"...

Fortunately most of my friends & family don't disapprove of such a thing, but I will simply not let them get to me and ignore it. It's their limited thinking and I don't have to worry about it.

As long as you're OK with it and don't have any negative feelings about it, then go ahead. I say do whatever feels right to you. I personally wouldn't do it, but I guess we're all different.

I say, make sure you get the complete package insured, er, insurance package. Those stages get slippery.

I used to be a stripper. I saw a male stripper at a bachelorette party I went to. No one has to know about it, just surround yourself with positive people, don't go having deep long convos with the narrow-minded.

If you can truthfully answer yes to the above, then go for it and have fun.

Do you expect this will lead to a good outcome for you and others? - Yes, I will be able to get experience in the club industry as this is a business I'm interested in starting. I will meet lots of new contacts in that industry, and I will be able to save a bit of money to help me actually start a business(thats not online)

Do you enjoy it and feel good about it? - had a BLAST yesterday at the amateur show. I do enjoy it. I do feel good about it.

Do you find it empowering? - Yes, I can work any nights I want to work - I have power in the club and can have people that don't obey the rules warned and kicked out.

Do you think it will be a positive growth experience for you? YES - The past few years I have already transformed from a very shy withdrawn person to an outgoing person but this will take me even further in that aspect.




Now, if I answer these same questions about my day job, which is a call center:

Do you expect this will lead to a good outcome for you and others? Pays the bills, not really doing anything of great use for others, no future here, depressed working here.

Do you enjoy it and feel good about it? Completely bored, unchallenged, brain dead.

Do you find it empowering? Not at all. I feel like a monkey on a leash. I have to follow a very strict call format and am marked down if I step outside the box. If I'm 2 or 3 minutes over on break time one day out of the month I hear about it. I feel like I'm always about to lose my job.

Do you think it will be a positive growth experience for you? No - the negativity transfers over into my personal life, dealing with rude angry people over the phone 40 hours a week is a drain to your self esteem

Overall, once I get decent I should make MUCH more than I make at my day job working far less hours, then I can get out of this hell hole ASAP. I wish I could just up and quit - but I have no savings right now and have bills to pay.

I could arrange that.

I just let loose on stage and it was soo fun. I did the amateur show for fun and had no intentions of ever doing it again. Before the show they said "We're fully staffed and won't be hiring anyone unless you completely amaze us." after the show they came up and said "we'd love to hire you, but I know you were just here for fun only!" and I said "hell yeah! sign me up! that was fun!"

While I don't agree with strip clubs as a matter of principle, make the best of your experience.

The only question I'd have is later, would you run into trouble by having that in your past? Say for example you wanted to run for politics of some sort. That could hurt your chances of winning, right?

Would it bother you if your girlfriend/wife or sister did it. If yes, then you have the answer.

Are you comfortable with men constantly hitting on you and propositioning you. One of the best kept secrets in professional bodybuilding, is alot of them are rent boys to very wealthy old men. Even Arnold mentioned this in his 1st book. He also has been rumoured to have done questionable acts on his road to fame. One of the current champs, has pictures of his jolly rancher in a melon on a gay website. When asked he said it pays the bills.

If you are as good as you sound, you better decide how you will act if a man offered you $10000 for a night, or 20 - $50000 for a weekend of your time (and he aint paying just for a strip). there are alot of people with loose cash, and the fact that you will resist them would make alot even more driven to have you.

Yeah I'm comfortable with being hit on by guys, I have many gay friends. I have no problem giving a guy a lap dance for money. It doesn't make me feel gay.

And I dunno how good I am, people just said I was pretty impressive, I don't know any cool pole stuff yet or anything like that :P

Do not ever let anyone pay you for sex. If they want to have sex with you, then fine. And if they want to give you money just for hanging out -- NOT for having sex -- then that's legal.

i have known woman that were stripper/dancers...males that were supposedly straight, but were really bi leaning toward males that were stripper dancers and have had many gay friends....while i don't really have any concern or care why someone does it if they are comfortable and enjoy it....i have seen the inside world because of the above and a lot of what the motivations and pitfalls were...and indeed being absolutely truthful with yourself and how you feel, or how you are perceived and if you can indeed leave it behind because, unfortunately, using ones body is one of the fastest ways to make a lot of money...i also detect a tiiinnnnyyy double standard here on how you would feel about a girlfriend and letting a woman pay you for safe sex....
