Hmm, well if you mean people I look up to, I guess there are a few. My mom, for one. Also, a friend who is in the programming field, who I consider to be very knowledgeable. Not sure if there are too many others really. I don't tend to think about who I look up to or idolize.

Two that come to my mind, Gandhi - because he made a huge influence in India with teh power of peace. He stuck to his values and persevered. Mother Teresa - Same as above. A woman who lived very simply and with little resources. Yet, she made an impact in the world because of her compassion. |

Billy Connolly - because he's funny and intelligent and really cares about other people especially the ordinary folk who make up our world. But most importantly because he doesn't give a fig what others think about him.

Oprah - I know, I know, but she does a lot of good things for a lot of people Florence Nightingale - who stepped out of her comfortable life to do something and mean something for a lot of people. Gandhi - who showed that you don't have to use violence to bring change to a country My hostparents when I was an exchange student - I loved them as if they were real family. They were open and supported me in all the things I did, which is amazing. Walt Disney - a great entrepreneur, entertainer, animator and dreamer |

Andy Kaufman Tim Burton Steve Pavlina Joey Ramone Dennis Rodman (maybe a bit of a nutter, but for his self expression and hard work on the court) Steve Nash - all round cool and nice guy, as well as an awesome baller |

Allen Iverson. How many people do you know who had the choice between nba and nfl? It's just huge. Magic Johnson. THe guy always had a smile on his face. Awesome Anthony Robbins, not for the same reasons as all the people, mostly for his voice. It's just astonishing the motivation and the energy the guy brings you. He could be reading a shopping list and still motivate me to be a better person. Louis amstrong. He was born poor, died rich, and never hurt anyone along the way Last edited by Sam kovacs; 06-03-2009 at 01:20 PM. |

I would like to add something quite important. I don't think having idols for everything they are. But i think idolizing a trait of someone is very good. This is why i added what i idolized in every single one of these people Y'all agree? |

My role models are mainly movie characters because the embody certain qualities taken to the highest level. It's also that I mainly think about models that embody a quality I aim to concentrate on myself, not one that I am working on as part of my natural progress through life, such as communication, etc. So some of them would be: Data from Star Trek - for his consistency, his devotion to principles, his memory and his exceptional exceptional mental skills, and Guynan, for her wisdom and extra-dimensional perception Patrick Jane from "The Mentalist", for his mental acuity and keen perception Riddick, for being a fierce hunter Starbuck from Battlestar Galactica - for being the best "fracking" viper pilot, and James Olmos playing Admiral Adama from the same series, for his authority, both as a character and as a person and humanitarian activist. Will Smith both as a person and as a movie character in any of his movies Master Yoda for talking so beautifully about "the Force"
