Talking Waiting

I have read from Steve's book that personal development can be a very long and hard journey.

And so it has been for me: lasting already 2,5 years, very hard, confusing, depressive, etc...

I have tried literally everything, and every time I read about some new idea, when I try to turn it into action, I can easily fit into one of the templates of why trying it would be nothing else but a waste of time.

(To tell more about myself, I am a person with an below average IQ, and some mental problems, probably learning disability.)

So my question is: should I keep trying and failing(btw, trial and error is something I see as positive) or should I just do nothing and wait patiently?

Thank you a lot for your time for replying.

It comes down to:

Do you want to grow and improve? Or do you just want to stay the same?

I think you know the answer to that.

I'd rather die trying... than die and not gave it my all.

I guess it's a happy way to live. Either be a spectator or be a player of life.

If you stop... what now?
Wait patiently... what are you waiting for?
...It is like waiting for something that's not even coming.

It can be long and a hard journey!?...

Have you limit yourself to those beliefs?

Actually I just decided to keep trying, but just by something that isn't too hard. I've been constantly doing that before-I was doing thing that were beyond my "stretching" zone.

But I won't consider this hiatus a failure. I learnt from it, that it's essential to be patient and that it's impossible to learn something in a day.

I did not read Steve's book , but if you keep failing at the new things you try, it always means that they are not for you and you know that because you keep failing at that!

Instead of searching for answers in others, you should search for answers in yourself. Try to really understand what you want from life and pursue it.

Each person has a different personal development path and if you choose someone else's path you are most likely to suffer.

Also, you are taking too much action. Firstly you have to change your mental state (now it seems you are at the lowest stage, depression, or disempowerment, in other words). From this mind state, no matter what action you will take, it will be a wrong one.

So if you try to raise your vibration (by meditating, observing only positive events and talking to positive people), whatever action you will take will be a better action than you took before this new state of mind.

Using a weightlifting metaphor: (like Steve )

The weights you are trying to lift are just too heavy for you. It doesn't mean anything negative abotu you, or the weights, just that right now, they are beyond your capabilities.

If you are trying and failing constantly, or success is a truely painful struggle, then you need to shift it down to something less drastic. Smaller steps first, and when it gets too easy, step it up again.

You wouldn't expect a newcomer to be able to lift 150lbs on his first go in weight lifting, it's the same with any endeavour. You have to start where you can, and go up from there.

You were right when you said you were stretching too far, and that it takes time to learn anything. The trick is to use the truth to find out where you are really at, then go from there.

Trying and moving forward is definitely the way to go. Be the best you can be and you will never regret it.
