Yeah "Illusions" by Richard Bach has to be on the top 10 list, for best books. If anyone is looking to increase their manifesting power, this book will do wonders for you. If you struggle with the LOA.... read this book!! |

I'm not sure whether this changed me, or whether I just loved it so much because it resonated so strongly with me, but it was a childrens' book version of the old "Androcles and the Lion" tale. Androcles - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia The childrens book version was very strong on the parts of compassion in the face of human cruelty, or at least that's how I remember it. |

Mine's Crime and Punishment by Dostoyovesky. Read it first when i was 12 and uncountable times since. The reason it had such an impact on me is, i think, because there are no good or bad guys just people and they don't always make sence, not even to themselves. It emphisises a lot about life that i hadn't found anywhere else.

For me it would be "Overcoming Underearning" by Barbara Stanny and "The Secrets of 6 Figure Women" also by Stanny. The first is a great review of why women are generally underearners. And the second was possibly the most helpful -- getting insight into the beliefs and attitudes of high-earning women. Just finished both of these. Other great books include Rich Dad, Poor Dad, Think and Grow Rich, The Science of Getting Rich (audio version is easiest), Wayne Dyer Excuses BeGone! -- just to name a few. Love this thread! Thanks for the great question...... Cindy |

Healing the Shame that Binds You by John Bradshaw. It helped me excavate and begin to sort out all the junk that was holding me back from true freedom. All the positive thinking in the world won't work if my soul is wearing shoes of mud. Every few years I cycle back, and need to go through the book again. |

Not a PD book, but the summer I was dating an abusive man, I was reading The Unbearable Lightness of Being and I came across this line: "But when the strong were too weak to hurt the weak, the weak had to be strong enough to leave." Changed my life. I fell out of Stockholm Syndrome-esque love a few days later and began moving toward my escape. |

Don't know if it's been already mentioned here, but the book "Feel the fear.. but do it anyway" by Susan Jeffers seems to have started the process of turning me back to the time when I used to be more proactive in life, and I've almost forgotten how it was. I'd say, 1/4 of the information in the book I learnt in my early youth, 2/4 I've learnt from Steve's articles (the same way of thinking)) and 1/4 has appeared new to me. When I was in a state of learnt helpnessness, I thought overcoming my fears was just not worth it, now I see sense in fighting my fears. And before it, I read "Positive Psychology" by Martin Seligman. I recommend both these books. |

The 12th Planet - Zecharia Sitchin. A lot of misinterpretations, but the main principles behind it has changed my beliefs on everything. Without it, I would never have explored new ideas which have now shaped who I am. |

"The Secret" is definitely the book that really changed my life. Not so much as to the content, but because of what it opens your eyes to. The book is about the Law of Attraction. What you think about, you attract, or what you think about you become. It's one of those books that really makes you start searching for what it is that you have been missing in your life, and it's different for everyone. Definitely check it out, and check out the free seminar below if you really want the whole picture of the books idea. |

Actually, this was the big life changer that got me started on LOA and PD... "Finding Each Other" by Don and Mary Kelly. It's out of print, but you can get a copy via Amazon Sellers for anywhere between a quarter and three bucks (plus shipping). Phenomenal book, and it even got me started on my career path. I did not do graphic arts at all before I read this book. It's about love LOA, but IMO it's better than every other love LOA book out there, and covers so many areas of life that if you're already in a happy relationship, you can still get something out of it. |

"Emmanuel's Book" by Pat Rodegast. Read it in 1996 and it trigged a massive spiritual awakening for me. Anything that happened to me before that feels so distant now, it's like it happened in a different lifetime. Besides spending several weeks blissed out, it keyed me to the vibration of what was Real (my truth at my level of consciousness). Since then, I've always been able to intuitively sense the integrity of metaphysical concepts and feel whether it was aligned with that truth or not (often before I mentally processed all of the implications). |
