Lightbulb Dark age of Men

Okay, so it's obvious that there are plenty of people suffering day to day, hour to hour, second to second.

Do you agree with the statement that the humanity must first unavoidably go through a long phase(say ten thousand years) of suffering and pain before multiple people can actually start growing?

Or you think it's possible to grow like Steve and be incredibly happy(which is what he says)...I mean of course it's possible, but do you think Steve was just lucky that he got so far with growth or not?

Because after three years of "growing" my life hasn't changed in a bit, so it's starting to get a bit awkward.

I believe that each person acts independently of others, apropos it doesn't matter if other people are lucky, or other people don't grow, if you grow then that's all that matters.

So stop comparing yourself! It's pathetic. Be a Man. Take a stand. You can only grow in relation to yourself.

How can you say that Magi?

Do you have such a low opinion of yourself you think you could never achieve what Steve has?

Well I don't know if you did but I've read from Steve's blog that the humanity works as a body and human beings are cells so if one cell is hurt, all others are affected as well.

Oh, and by Men I've meant humans.

Well of course each of us has an effect. But by being an example of growth others will be inspired by you.

I know that it's possible to change your state in an instant, Right Now. There is no waiting period required for being happy, or any other state you'd like to be in, and I know for sure a ten thousand year lag is not necessary!

I don't think Steve's ability to feel good on purpose has anything to do with luck. I think he has deliberately developed the skill of adopting ways of being that work well for him. He is really, really good at it, but that doesn't mean that you have to work and toil and struggle before you can instantly change your state.

Alexsandr, what exactly would you like to change?

I know it would be better if I'd keep my mouth shut at this one, but I'll say anyway.

So thanks for the inspiring post, but if I'll think of a specific problem, instead of just whining "I can't grow!"(which is what I did for like the millionth time on this forum), I'll just post it in a specific thread.

But thanks again for the inspiring post, it really lifted me up.

EDIT:
Oh, and what would you know, I think I picked up Steve's sense of humor.

It happens on rare occasions.

EDIT:
But I've already tried to change my mood for so many times but I've failed almost every time.

Yes, "almost" being the operative word. So, what do you think is different about the times when you were successful? What did you do, think, or say that was different when you just successfully did it, just now?

This is exactly why I think I'm bad at socialising. I'm too complex and I think I'd have to talk to someone I really trust to talk about this. Sure I could lie to you to get a decent answer, but I don't find that quite right.

So in other words thanks for your effort, but I'm beyond aid really.

EDIT:
But thanks again(for the fourth time), I really do feel better now.

That last post, Aleksandr, was a rhetorical question, really. You don't have to answer me. I am just suggesting a question you might ask yourself (and I should have said so) to get you looking at how, exactly, you might effectively get the results you want to have.

At least, now you know it's possible to make changes in yourself without waiting for ten thousand years, because you just did it in the blink of an eye. You really do feel better now.

You are definitely doing something wrong if you did not change a bit in the last three years. Maybe you keep repeating that you are not changing and that's what manifests.

So to answer your previous question, my primary goal is to be happy. I know it's kinda lame and there are thousands of other things in life that are important, but that's about it. Like you can see in my signature.

I don't think that's lame at all. I am really inspired and it feels good to listen to you declare your desire to be happy. I think many, many, many people share that desire.

Again, you don't have to answer my question "out loud," but would you like to think of a time when you felt really happy? What was happening? What were you doing, thinking, seeing, smelling, hearing? Who was there? What were you wearing? Do you have a picture in your head of that time?

I think Steve is very careful when choosing moderators.

But as crazy as it may sound, I can't recall anything specific. Hopeless yet?

That's ok. Imagine being happy. Do you have a picture in your mind of what that might be like, and what the answers to my questions might be? Again, I'm not suggesting you answer them out loud; just look, if you want to.

Default Useful quote from Abraham Hicks

Wherever you are, is just fine…You can get to wherever you want to be from wherever you are… It’s time to stop measuring where you are in relationship to where anybody else is. The only factor that has anything to do with you is where you are in relationship with where you want to be.

Sorry, poor English on my behalf.

@Angela:
Yeah I just imagined something happy, things I'd like to do.

But I can't answer your questions.

But heck, I'm still happy and I think this is my tenth grin in this thread.

Isn't that amazing? You are here right now making the very change in yourself that you desire -- being happy. You are powerful, and you can have what you want. Doesn't that feel good?

Actually this happens to me every couple of days, but then I go right back to my unhappy self.

EDIT(once again):
To answer your previous question(again), I think I just discovered what makes me happy: when I believe that it's possible for me to grow. Like when you said that getting happy is easy. Consequently it is possible for me to grow. Hence the sadness over not growing in three years.

So here's a skill Steve has mastered, and maybe you'd like to learn it, too -- competence in changing your state at will. I don't think Steve is in a constant and unchanging state of "happiness" all the time, but he does have the talent for thinking thoughts that deliberately bring happiness (or whatever he'd like to be being) to his conscious forefront. Is that a skill you'd like to have for yourself? You can. You know how I know? Because you just deliberately did it -- you just in the space of a few minutes took yourself to a state of happiness on purpose.

Maybe you feel like you are at a low level of this skill? But most skills worth mastering take practice. If it's a skill you'd like to master, perhaps you'd like to make it a practice in your every-day life.

You know, many people (maybe even most people) never take it on at all -- they just see themselves as being at the mercy of external circumstances, and never see themselves as being the source of what they're being. So, even having a small or fleeting glimpse of your personal power in effecting change in yourself puts you far, far ahead of the game. Congratulations to you!

Why thank you(again). And btw I think I just broke my record about how long I was happy.

But yeah I practice daily in this manner: I try to constantly control my thoughts(I happen to be a very disciplined person).

I am never really giving up, just like you said it's essential to.

Just to be clear, I don't think it's essential to never give up, or anything else for that matter. What I do think it is that there is a choice that we're presented with in each moment. Maybe the choice looks like: Am I choosing to be happy, or am I choosing to be resigned? Or: am I choosing to allow my habitual thoughts run me, or would I rather feel good on purpose? Any of these choices is perfectly valid, and I don't think you *should* choose anything at all. And I am delighted with the prospect of the choice that I'm presented with in each new Now.

I wish I had such a clear look on everything that's going on in my life.

For example I ask questions such as why should I even study if I'm not going to get a job...

EDIT:
As in any case I wish you best regards and a good night, as I'm kind of tired right now. Have fun!

I think it's extremely important. Just recently, I made the decision to be happy no matter what. It wasn't easy, because I've been a negative person so long. After a month of concentrating on what makes me happy, I finally genuinely feel it most of the time. I'm kind of amazed at how I feel now.
