Since I've started to notice my thought patterns I've noticed something,... that I'm happy or I feel joy when I see other people losing money, when they make bad decisions, when they do something that is wrong and get caught, people who got loans now deserve to suffer in the economic crisis, etc. I think that they deserve all those things to happen ...I don't know why, but this is how I think, and I wanted to talk about this. I always liked when I played poker with someone to get all their money, or when I played any other sport ...to destroy my opponents Now today I've noticed something ...while I was in a bank to get a large sum of money while I was watching the people around me and a thought pattern that they want something bad to happen to me appeared in my mind. I was feeling that they want someone to come to me and steal my money, or the police to appear and arrest me for something illegal, etc. What do you think about this ? |

A psychologist might suggest that you consider looking at potential feelings of inferiority. They might have you look at how these attitudes give you a false sense of importance... which results in protecting you from having to acknowledge and feel the pain of your feelings of inferiority.

Are you unhappy when you see others succeed? If so I would work on investigating that first in order to find happiness through it. If you do this I think you be able to tell the difference between detached happiness and "happiness". |

It seems to me that you are punishing yourself for your negative thoughts towards your "competition" by assuming that other people have the same negative thoughts towards you. It seems to me that you don't understand that there is enough for everyone and if one person wins that doesn't mean that you lose. I guess that's insecurity and seperateness (and yes I struggle with that too). You may feel that you are not as important as other people and that you don't deserve to win, so they shouldn't deserve to win either. You may feel that if they lose, then they have been brought back down to your level where they belong.
