Default Ethics of promoting wild food foraging?

Do you see it as unethical to publicize and promote foraging for wild edible plants due to the possibility that they could become endangered, or it could disrupt the local ecology if too many people foraged in the wild?

It won't ever become popular enough to do that. So, no.

If the problem comes up, it can be handled. People might start simply growing their own if the area gets over foraged. People can plant more as they take, etc.

Sounds like a fear more than a real problem. I don't think ethics comes into this, its simply a situation that can be handled.

If you publicized information about foraging you could omit the location of the wild food and you could also make sure to include information that the ethics of foraging for wild food include leaving a little behind so that the plant will have more food next year.

I have a web site that publicizes the location of many special places. Once in a while I have been asked to remove some of the special places from the site because they are just a little too special. I have complied because I do not own these special places. Nor do I really own the web site anymore. It's like the web site belongs to the community. And if the community doesn't want the whole world to know where all the best places are, I'm going to do what the community wants.

Keep in mind you don't own the wild food, so being the one to publicize information about it carries a measure of responsibility.
