A few months ago I began learning the tarot by drawing a single card each day and relating it to my life. At first it was going well, but about 20 cards into the deck I wasn't able to continue anymore. Why? Because it became impossible to relate the deep cards with my shallow "work - eat - sleep" routine. Even right now if I pick up a card, I can't feel any connection between my dull daily life and the meaning inscribed on the cards surface. So, with that said, what can I do? I want to be able to enjoy my life and feel that every day is well spent but all I feel is the drudgery and dull grind of a life lacking any interest or excitement. I used to say in the past that I don't celebrate my birthday just once a year, because every day is a celebration to the act of living, but right now I can't say that I can relate to that phrase because my days are Just. So. BORING. What can I do? |

You want to do something interesting? What would be interesting to you? There is time in your day for you to do what you want even if you don't want to change jobs. I mean you have time to post on this forum which means there are probably other similar things (TV, books, newspaper) that you can throw away to make time for you to do things you want. Don't know what you want. Experiement. <-- So you know, that is a link to my blog with some stuff I wrote on topic. |

If you used to say every day is a celebration of life, but now your life is boring, then you never understood the joy of being alive... and that's perfectly okay. To live an "interesting" life, you must make everything interesting. Learn to appreciate the small things: a flower, the wind, feeling water on your skin. You must learn to embrace the present moment. If you're always looking for something more interesting than what you have, you won't notice when something interesting comes along. Instead, do something interesting NOW, or find the interesting things that you're already doing. I strongly recommend Eckharte Tolle's books, "The Power of Now" and "A New Earth." He has a way of explaining things that make it easy to understand and apply. Personally, I only learned to enjoy being alive after going through some difficult times. I don't know if it's like that for everyone though. Well... I hope you find what you're looking for, but I don't think you'll find it until you stop looking; then you'll see that you already have it. |

i've got the same sense before,i think what you need is religion. let's confirm something relevant to your life,OK? 1.Are you work for somebody else(y/n)? 2.Are you good at what you are doing(y/n)? 3.Do you have a long plan for the future(y/n)? 4.Do you always have active attitude(y/n)? i suggest that you should change your mind. |

i think what he needs is not to appreciate, his trouble is not caused by things happened in the outer world,is just because something in his mind doesn't work.Just find out the real reason puzzle him is more important. | |

Sometimes we feel bored, but a lot more is going on beneath the surface. Maybe it's frustration, or pain, or a feeling of being trapped? Lots of ways to put meaning back in your life: learn something new help someone become mindful in the moment Being bored is not any fun. I hope you get out of your blue funk soon! G. |

I think people feel like the original person described just before they make a change. Somewhere deep inside he knows what will bring him happiness, but he may not yet know it on the surface. He could do many things to awaken himself to what he wants, such as read and take note of the imagery that moves him or write a list of all the things that brought him happiness as a child and look in that list for a clue or a common theme or something he always wanted to do but never did.

Try reading the 4 Hour Work Week. You may want to find a hobby of some kind that interests you, writing, painting miniture figurines, tennis, trials biking, programming, whatever. Or randomly take a class in something like dancing or a martial arts. Try this: take note everytime someone tells you they're doing something and you go, "cool! that's impressive and interesting!" Skydiving perhaps, or paragliding. Fear only goes away if you do waht you're afraid of. |
