He didn't. He started as a patent clerk after finishing school.

"Following graduation, Einstein could not find a teaching post. After almost two years of searching, a former classmate's father helped him get a job in Berne, at the Federal Office for Intellectual Property,[14] the patent office, as an assistant examiner. His responsibility was evaluating patent applications for electromagnetic devices." (Wikipedia)

After 1908, he held professorial posts at a number of universities in Europe and the US, and finished his career at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Princeton, NJ.

When you see the kinds of jobs that are available in general, getting a job and being successful in it requires patience, being safe and a large amount of tolerance for boredom and frustration. Getting a job would be better suited for those that aren't geniuses. :P

Intelligence does not go well with success, as intelligence often leads to distractions, imagination and creativity. Traditional jobs do not encourage those. Non-traditional jobs though are very supportive. Perhaps Einstein would have been a blogger.
