Thumbs up Who/What motivates you to work hard?

I'm really motivated by films/filmmakers, whenever I see an incredible movie I go into 'SUPERHARDWORKNOW!' mode. The Dark Knight does it for me, everytime I watch it I beat it home and I start thinking and working on 'career' things. Thinking about Peter Jackson (and what he was doing in the King Kong documentaries, going 2-3 months on less than 4 hours sleep a night and still keeping up his creativity and the energy of his entire set) also helps if i'm trying to disicpline myself to do something that's tough.

What keeps you going? Gets you started? Share share!

A while back I saw the most beautiful woman on the train... beautiful for me, I mean, we just had this instant connection. Beautiful for anyone, but incredible for me, just blazing with light. She smiled at me, I smiled at her, we played eye-tag a bit, and I didn't ask her out.

Afterwards after beating my head against the curb a bit I swore to myself that the next time the universe deals me an ace I'll have enough self esteem to god-damn take it.

So now I work to embrace my own power and self-esteem, to be the person inside as well as outside who knows he's worthy of a girl like that.

I believe Hill called that "sex-transmutation"?

Dice, I think you've hit the nail on the head for where most of us get inspiration to work hard.

Seeing other people's success and hard work - especially when they are in the same line as ourselves - is always inspiring.

As a writer I am inspired by other writers.
As an internet marketer I am inspired by the successes of others.
As a life coach I am inspired by the way other coaches have changed lives.

I am particularly inspired by seeing how other people have risen above hardship and seemingly against all odds to become successful. If you've never read the life story of Abraham Lincoln and how he suffered defeat after defeat in both his personal and professional life before he eventually became President of the US, then do. It's a real inspiration to keep going, no matter what happens.
