Default The dumb Steve Pavlina follower

Has anyone else noticed the people that have taken Steves advice the wrong way.... They read some articles and they all do the first things they can think of when it comes to changing themself. To change their career they will start a website thats similar to steves but a diluted version of it that doesnt have much value! it will be called something like....
how-to-change-your-life-and-be-happy-lots.com
and they have the false hope that this will earn them a living one day.... IT REALLY WONT!
You can make money from a website but not when there is a lack of creativity!
Just really wanted to say this ..... so yeah

That might be true. However, donīt you think that everyone has to make his own mistakes to (hopefully) discover what works and what not?

So you think making fun of others, claiming they have it all wrong and calling them dumb will lead them to great insights?

I don't like this line of thought....
It smells of can't see the forest for the trees

Rant on:
I find that Steve's insights open doorways in others thought process.....
The road to independent/creative thought starts with restating others thoughts
I have yet to meet a musician that didn't start by playing covers or at the very least learn scales and chords.... by your line of reason they are less of a musician because they didn't invent the 1-4-5 progression... I don't know
How many songs have you heard that sound like watered down versions of others do they have no value?
I hate to slaughter the sacred cow but most of Steve's insights are just variations of themes we have all heard before... does this mean they have no value?
It takes a lot of courage to put yourself out there even if it is only on the web
why tare down? you could support these others and help them grow
Is it possible that they will reach an audience that Steve doesn't?

If they are creating value..... good on em
Rant off:

I see your signature says Art, Music, Love
Your words do not truly communicate the love you are trying to give
I do believe what you intended was to help others see the ignorance in their ways...

We are not all on the same path... believe me someone is getting value out of these others web-sites even if it is just the poster him/herself

Suppose everything you observe is true. What is the alternative? What would these people most likely be doing otherwise? What should they be doing?

Well I have to admit I was one of those "dumb" people initially that got caught up with trying to start a site, that had no "real value", but it's ok I came around full circle, to realize that was I was doing wasn't aligned with who I am and I learnt a valuable lesson from it.

Actually prior to coming onto this site, I was trying to do things to make money online, that wasn't really me, like buying domains etc but now I'm letting this all go, because I know I will never make any money from it, because it's not essentially what I am about. So if I hadn't come onto this site, tried some silly adventures, I would be still wasting my money investing in domain names and other silly ventures (nothing bad, but time wasting).

We make mistakes, we learn and then we grow

Im trying to help people process faster! Im just giving my opinion .. just if i was criticizing how religion is not effective because it is limited thinking.. this is an example of something steve says that you would also say its just brining peoples down? right? think before you talk.

IM just pointing out that they blindly follow the first thing they think of doing to help themself when reading things steves writes simply becuase this is what steve done. There is a danger that it will keep them from finding there true calling it just acts as a distraction. Im sure for some other people it is the right thing for them to do... im just saying the amounts of people.. it just doesnt add up.

Completely agree I was in the same situation once too. With this insight I know that I would have liked someone to say what I said in this post to help me realize it faster

Not to mention, Steve himself had failures before he had success....

So yeah, these people might be failing with imitation, but at least they're doing something. And they will, if they keep at it, learn from those failures, coming closer to the end-goal.

Then again, I guess if my website wasn't going to "be up" until 2009, I could have lots of room to tear people down for no apparent reason too....
