Default Paying the Price

I have found an in back into a cstore job. It is a graveyard shift. The thought of bagging peoples beer is not appealing to me, especially when I know I am capable of more. However, I have not been proactive and valuing my time. But this is something, and I'm living in a friends house. Is this the price I have to pay to get where I want to be? I had thought of returning to oklahoma, however with my car accident last week it has made that almost impossible. I, also, have a friend coming out next month to see me. So, if I'm not here then I wouldn't be treating her fairly.

Edit: People have often told me you have to do things you don't want to do. Do you find this true? If so How and why? I have often chalked this up to limiting beliefs and lower mindset.

I have begun asking myself that same question.

I want to a career in which I can thrive that fully leverages my strengths, builds or bridges my weaknesses. I want to be financially independent, free of debt, living in my own home, new car (now the old one is busted), the tools (such as treadmill, juicer, laptop, etc) to make my current and future goals achievable and maintainable. Reaching for both health and wealth in the truest since of the words. Loving and magnificent relationship too. To be able to do so in a timely manor would be great too. Lets say weeks? I know that could be unrealistic, but if I could turn things around in weeks, then that would prove to others they could too. So say, 6 weeks to 6 months. Not on all of it, just self reliance aspect.

To me it seems a bit unclear or more concept driven than anything. Without much references to go by to create this, I'm not surprised. I had wanted to go to college, and that is still apart of it. But what do I want to go to college for, skills and knowledge to make me more valuable right? A degree would also be a first in my family. I have had an affinity for Vegas, but truthfully, but if I can achieve this someplace else, I would probably do so. As it isn't about where I am, but more so what I'm doing.

Until you've discovered your life's passion and have a plan to get there, you do need to do things you don't enjoy. You can't sit around unemployed because the jobs offered to you don't fully utilize yourself while at the same time not really knowing what you really truly want to do. Maybe you can use the time spent at the "boring" job to do alot of thinking and really decide what direction to head in.

Work, even menial work, should never be beneath you. There's nothing to be ashamed about doing a honest day's work. It may not be glamorous, but try to keep it in positive terms. It's low stress and probably has flexible hours. And with the pay it provides, you can start building towards the things you really do want to do: career shift, moving, education, travel, whatever.

Default More on what I want to do

I enjoy doing is solving problems. Especially if it is beyond my current scope yet still within my reach. I am also big on being efficient/effective. I know this may sound paradoxical given my posts but it is true. I love to help or serve people, although I want to do it in a unique way that is more valuable than $8 an hour. I will and have gone extraordinary lengths for others. Just don't know how to get paid for it. In all the businesses I've deal with, usually what upsets me the most is the selfishness, or the lack of service. I'm also big on ideas and have thought about being a coach, but I have a lot of skills to work on. I'm interested in NLP mastery as well as many other things. I'm big on brainstorming and learning, but usually when it comes to me I'm too close to the problem. I have been told I'm also very negative about my self, while I believe I'm very optimistic about others.

Funchy is right. There is nothing wrong with an honest day's labor.

A nice thing about being out there among people is you have a chance to meet others. Perhaps as you approach knowing what you want to do, you'll meet someone who can help you. The key is to treat everyone well so that when you meet that person, they'll know you as a good person and want to help you.

The trouble with $8 an hour jobs is that they are hard work, usually harder than work that pays 4 or more times as much. It is sad that such jobs are so devalued. Not everyone can do them.

It isn't the money or the labor about this job I can do that makes it so undesirable. But what it overall represents. It is a cstore, a job which in a sense I've mastered all the takes and duties of, save being happy doing it. And I feel that just doing something I'm not happy with again to try and get happy is the definition of insane. Plus, the 2 of primary capitol resources of cstores are alcohol and cigarettes, with most other things being junk food. I do not like being apart of that.
