Since the question is vague, I am not sure exactly what the OP is looking for here, so this may or may not be applicable. I believe that the idea of masculinity that exists in our culture is a very limiting belief. Prescribing to the traditional ideas of what makes one masculine could very easily create difficulties in personal development. I find it to be near impossible to truly grow as a person when trying to fit a label that others define. I believe that a lot of men have this problem, they think they need to be masculine, which means they behave in the way that society tells them that men should behave, rather than being themselves. On the other hand, if the OP was not referring to traditional masculine ideas as imposed by society, then the above is probably irrelevant to the question. |
