I don't know if you CAN "choose" a passion. I think maybe it chooses you.

Semantics - but maybe you have to try different things before you "discover" your passion. Sometimes just getting moving, doing ANYTHING, helps me, leads me to the next step, which leads me to ....?

I think it's true that if you're passionate about something, and you take the time to really listen to your intuition and trust it, then your intuition will tell you not only that this is the right direction to go in but also what step you should take next. Often action in the direction of something you think you may be interested in leads to inspiration (or at least a better understanding of what you'd like to try next time) and then inspiration leads to action and the whole thing snowballs. It is important to experiment with many different areas so that you get a better understanding of what you enjoy and what you don't enjoy. If you know what you're passionate about and you take any action towards it, that will help you figure out what a better action to take next time would be too.

The way I read your purpose, it's career-independent. You can live a life of empowerment, be creative, and raise the consciousness of other people no matter what you do to make money. Do what appeals to you most. Do what you love. The experience is worth it! Even if you take a "wrong turn" here and there, you will learn about yourself and what works for you.

I've realized that I don't have to work at accomplishing my purpose. When I do what I do naturally, make choices that are true to who I am, and pursue what I love, my purpose takes care of itself.

Thanks for the advice. I'm confused because I want to specialize on one thing that I am good at and become most effective at it. When I can focus all my strength on one thing I know it is better than multi-tasking and drifting back and forth. If I spend time on one thing the results would multiply as I invest more time in it.
I want to pursue my passion but also make sure what I am doing is practical.
