apperently my life purpose is to sabatoge relationships with the people I care most about... i didn't intend on it happening that way, it just sort of did.

other than that, there is no purpose for me, other than to live a life of quiet desperation. I know this doesn't help anyone, but who I am I to give advice, if I can't even straighten myself out, anyway?

If you can see anything at all, you have something worthwhile to share. No one is incapable of giving good advice.

I think my life purpose has got something to do with explaining things.

All my life, I find myself in formal and informal roles that involve advising, explaining, teachng things to others.

My purpose in life:

To share the joy of music and sound with everyone I can, and to help show people beauty in everything around them.

My purpose in life is to enjoy every moment fully, to live in the present moment and to open the hearts and eyes of everyone I come in contact with.

I like that one Jonathan!

Think mine would be "To live my life to the fullest, share my knowledge and help others grow."

That needs some reworking . Something with a GTD principal in it.

First time I read the "Discover your purpose in 20 minutes article" was a at-least 2 years back. Now I didn't do the exercise everyday. Not even every-month. But I can finally say that I have found it;

Quote:
To live my life with passion and love, respecting the spirits. To be in the present moment to grow and help others grow.
Feel silly I needed so much time for it... but at-least I did .

I believe my purpose on this earth is to heal through feeling and acting on compassion and hope. In short, healing with empathy.

My life purpose is to help make the world a better place through writing Amnar, to spread greater understanding and passion.

Smile Channel, Writer and Inspirational Speaker

My life purpose is to use my creative gifts (channeling, writing, design and speaking) to better the spiritual and psychological lives of others. It is also, as a spirit channel, to allow other creative light beings and entities to inspire others through me.

As a personal goal I would say that I am meant to learn true patience and to become a mother (some day.) Not just a mother by giving birth, but a mother by being a shining example of intellect, kindness, dedication and self-confidence for my children.

Great question by the way!

Blessings,

Vera Nadine

Joely, may I suggest "...through writing or communicating PERIOD", leaving off any specifics? ALL of your communication overflows with abundant understanding, passion, and contribution. Just a thought.

See, this is where I'm having issues at the moment, since for some rather odd reasons, it seems much of that seems to come through that particular series. I've been worried, especially over the last few weeks, that I'm going to end up putting all my focus into talking about recovering anorexia and depression, and I don't really want that. It's a part of my past, but I don't want to make it part of my present and future to the degree that it's all that I do, at the same time devaluing something into which I've poured my heart. I've felt some pressure lately that I should focus all my attention on helping others with the condition, and whilst I'm happy to share my story, and help where I can, I don't honestly want my life to be all about that. When I walked away, I wanted to really walk away, and make it something I could leave behind. So this is something with which I'm struggling.

But thank you, for the compliment. It matters to me that people live their best possible life.

I've heard you talking about eating disorders and depression, your science fiction, encouragement to others in all kinds of areas -- what you say about what you're going through is universal, it's not just applicable to your specific struggle. I have found your words to be cover a broad range, but the undercurrent of understanding, compassion, and contribution runs through everything you've said.

I didn't mean it as a compliment!

Rather, as a suggestion that there may be something to let go of or to generate.

To let go of, yes. Definitely.

I think that might be why I've been feeling so stuck lately.

Like what? What can you see to let go of that would make a difference?

sorry to appear to be disrailing the thread, but I think letting go and generating are what it takes to distinguish a really compelling life's purpose.

I think that would be something I'd save for a private conversation/PM rather than a public forum, as some of it is quite sensitive information.

And you're right, in order to really live your purpose in life, you do need to both generate and let go of - in my case - a great deal of things. I've always had a powerful sense of purpose, that I'm here for a reason, that there are things I not so much need to do, but to be. It's not a goal in the traditional sense. It's that sense of purpose, that everything I'm doing or being is being done or been for some reason that's kept me going. Even when I'm completely oblivious to that, it's there, deep down inside me. Sorry if that doesn't make sense!

I understand -- just looking for yourself is the important thing!

I think you've articulated perfectly what a powerful sense of purpose can provide.

wow, that was a lot of p's.

The great thing is this conversation has made me realise that I'm not working towards the "life purpose" I thought I was supposed to be living, I already am being and living. All this growth I'm doing (and oh my god is there a lot of growth happening right now!) is part of being that purpose. Being an example of what I talk about to others.

So ... my life purpose is to be an example of passion, contribution, love and happiness.

Excellent alliteration, by the way
