| apperently my life purpose is to sabatoge relationships with the people I care most about... i didn't intend on it happening that way, it just sort of did. other than that, there is no purpose for me, other than to live a life of quiet desperation. I know this doesn't help anyone, but who I am I to give advice, if I can't even straighten myself out, anyway? |
| |||
| If you can see anything at all, you have something worthwhile to share. No one is incapable of giving good advice.

| My purpose in life is to enjoy every moment fully, to live in the present moment and to open the hearts and eyes of everyone I come in contact with.

| First time I read the "Discover your purpose in 20 minutes article" was a at-least 2 years back. Now I didn't do the exercise everyday. Not even every-month. But I can finally say that I have found it; Quote:

My life purpose is to use my creative gifts (channeling, writing, design and speaking) to better the spiritual and psychological lives of others. It is also, as a spirit channel, to allow other creative light beings and entities to inspire others through me.

| Joely, may I suggest "...through writing or communicating PERIOD", leaving off any specifics? ALL of your communication overflows with abundant understanding, passion, and contribution. Just a thought. |

But thank you, for the compliment. It matters to me that people live their best possible life.

| I've heard you talking about eating disorders and depression, your science fiction, encouragement to others in all kinds of areas -- what you say about what you're going through is universal, it's not just applicable to your specific struggle. I have found your words to be cover a broad range, but the undercurrent of understanding, compassion, and contribution runs through everything you've said. |

| Thank you

I think that might be why I've been feeling so stuck lately.

sorry to appear to be disrailing the thread, but I think letting go and generating are what it takes to distinguish a really compelling life's purpose. |

And you're right, in order to really live your purpose in life, you do need to both generate and let go of - in my case - a great deal of things. I've always had a powerful sense of purpose, that I'm here for a reason, that there are things I not so much need to do, but to be. It's not a goal in the traditional sense. It's that sense of purpose, that everything I'm doing or being is being done or been for some reason that's kept me going. Even when I'm completely oblivious to that, it's there, deep down inside me. Sorry if that doesn't make sense!

| The great thing is this conversation has made me realise that I'm not working towards the "life purpose" I thought I was supposed to be living, I already am being and living. All this growth I'm doing (and oh my god is there a lot of growth happening right now!) is part of being that purpose. Being an example of what I talk about to others. So ... my life purpose is to be an example of passion, contribution, love and happiness. Excellent alliteration, by the way
