| Well, I was one of those three five-hour sessions over three days people... I just couldn't get to my bottom-line purpose! I covered everything from 'have sex with everyone on the planet' to 'to tensely hold my pain in place then drop it like a china plate' Finally made it though... To participate in the presentation of tools and modalities that change consciousness, and to improve distribution models for those tools that improve the availability of those tools. If anyone wants to see my gruesome 13 pages give me a hollar, though I can't imagine why you would. Perhaps it will be a tool for changing your consciousness though! |

| Hey congrats!! I have yet to do this. I'm afraid of how long it will take, but in reality, nothing should be more important. That seems like kind of a complex purpose, hopefully it makes good sense to you though.

| I guess I could simplify the wording - To help share tools for transformation, and get them out to as many people as possible as quickly and efficiently as possible" Thanks for the reply. It was an intense process. I got a huge migraine in the middle of the first session. It kind of captures the 'salesmany' and 'techie' side of me. I guess I could shorten it even more.... To share tools for transformation Or..... To transform myself and others!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Last edited by netcowboy : 12-11-2006 at 10:31 PM. |

| That's great! I'm glad you took the time to edit it down -- your first version made my head spin with all those tools. What kind of transformation are we talking about here? What kind of tools? Start sharing! love, Angela |

| Hi Angela, Well currently, careerwise, I assist with the operations of a nutritional supplements company! We started up about three years ago and the products are really great! If you're interested, drop me an email at brent@ziquin.com. I'm always, and I mean *constantly* interested in transformation. Transformation is the only constant, .... right?! I guess I prefer the idea of transformation to the ideas of 'growth' or 'evolution' since those seem more like a game- but transformation is more basic and primal. Thanks for the reply! Are we having fun yet? -- Brent Last edited by netcowboy : 12-11-2006 at 11:58 PM. |

| Hey netcowboy, Your purpose is nice! I like it! The longer one is more specific while the shorter one is easier to remember...go with both!

| Netcowboy, congratulations on finding your purpose. One question for you: how did it feel for you once you realized you finally got it and how do you feel about the future now that this is clear to you? In other words, what impact did this have on you - or is it too soon yet? I suppose to most people, finding or defining their purpose gives them clarity and direction. But since you shared your experience here, I'm interested in your personal perspective, especially because it seems to me you're somehow already aligned with your purpose. |

| Alvin, Thank you for your comment. I appreciate it! Patricia, I have had moments of clarity in the past in my career life where I realized that I tended to be involved as an early adopter / early promoter of new technologies. Quite by coincidence, I have assisted several CEOs and COOs in improving their model of distribution, whether it was e-mail problems they were having, or shipping software issues. Since these have happened naturally for me since I became self-employed in the mid 90s, I did sort of ultimately gravitate to the life I have lived as a technology executive and management consultant. However what was meaningful for me in this latest process, was integrating these ideas more into my personal life, and also getting more in touch with my emotions and feelings which I have been neglecting for a long while. It was interesting how confused I became while going through all of the possible options, sexual goals, emotional anger ("I want to tell everyone in the world what to do")... It was actually a great catharsis. As I went from migraine-like headaches to cynical purposes involving meaninglessness, I began to wonder if I still had any sort of heart left. When I came to my final summary that I shared above, there was a slight wetness around my eyes. What is this? Are those tears? Quite an accomplishment for a technology/operations person. As far as immediate impact, I can report a couple of things. Last night I gave my daughter a ride to her choral performance (caroling) at a local mega-mall. her mom is out of the country (surfing in Mexico- 80 degree waters!) ... So it was just her and me. Usually she likes to pop in a CD and play loud music when we're going anywhere, and this can sometimes rattle my nerves. (She likes Japanese rock lately- a group called Dir En Grey) And I remembered my purpose 'to transform'... and I just let the music transform me, and relaxed and enjoyed it. Similarly, during the caroling at the mall, an activity I typically find very unpleasant (the mall is so dirty!) - I found myself seeing some of the beauty in children singing among the grime and weary parents. And allowed that too to transform me. So, those are two occasions where the 'purpose' has helped in my personal life. I didn't allow circumstances to get to me, but 'took charge' by applying my purpose ... to transform! I have to add too that my daughter was utterly adorable in her santa hat. All of the kids had red santa hats with white fringe (the ones we're all accustomed to seeing), but my daughter had a black santa hat with white fringe. She was totally "the goth kid" and I loved it. Thanks to all you guys for keeping me company while my wife is at surf camp btw! Last edited by netcowboy : 12-12-2006 at 08:55 PM. |
