Greetings, I'm Daniel, 19. Pleased to meet all of you. Wow. Has my life changed thus far. Bit by bit I've been working on my character and more than anything my contribution to others. There is a long story behind what I'm doing now, but I'll get to the point today, just that. Well, I have realized that a lot of our kids in schools(especially in California) do not grow being goal-oriented. They are rather, lazy, goalless, and don't take gusto in life. When I thought about it, I thought of technology, the media, etc. But then I stopped thinking of causes and started focusing on solutions and I realized there was a simple solution (although, it would of course not solve the entire problem) and that was to help these kids become goal-oriented, organized, to show them how to manage stress, emotions, etc. So for that, I decided to speak in classrooms in High Schools and Middle Schools (And I absolutely LOVE it) telling them about my experiences in the past and how I live today. How I went from trouble maker, bad grades to high college GPA and a fulfilling life. I motivate them to not only graduate High School and College but to also do something for their lives, to find out what they want to do. About a week ago or two, I decided to step up a notch and also focus on Elementary School kids, so I worked on a mentoring plan all week (one that would involved college students to mentor children by doing different activities with them, etc) and went to speak with different principles. One wants me to mentor during the summer and another one would have me speaking in many classrooms (as well as recommending me to other schools) this summer as well. So finally, I feel like I'm making a much bigger difference and I feel I'm growing. Thanks to Personal Development, I have a bigger, clearer vision of where I want to be. Daniel: Great to hear that you are sharing your life with the youth and motivating them to become even better people in their future lives. If you are able to touch one person and make a change for the better, you've more than made your mark in the world. Keep up the good work and please keep us informed of your future speaking engagements and goals. Matt |

I think that's absolutely amazing that you discovered your purpose and how to use that purpose to contribute to the world and make a difference. I for one, and I'm sure others, would like to hear your story if you ever have time to share it. Keep us updated on how it goes! |

| Thanks for all the kind words, you guys are great Quote:
I can see myself speaking in large crowds of adults and teenagers, in small crowds, in classrooms, in a family. I can see myself leading an institution dedicated to help kids expand their learning, an institution dedicated to mentoring where kids can come in, sit down in computers and learn, classroom activities where they can get their imagination go wild and they can hear from different perspectives (different ethnicities, economic backgrounds, lifestyles, etc). I can see myself sitting down with them and do fun activities, I can see myself involved in fund-raising activities so I can give food to those who don't have anything to eat in Christmas. I want to do this, I want it with a passion. This is what I want to do. I already run a website PUALifestyle.com Forum - Powered by vBulletin (Check it out). And although, the original intention was to get better with girls (I know), we created it because we believed that the key to get good not only with girls but with life in general is to have an exciting lifestyle and personal growth. Yes, Steve, you were one of our inspirations ^_^. So since then, we grew at a exponential rate, no advertising, just mouth to mouth. We hit our record number of users online at the same time 614 but lately it has decreased and it's something I want to bring back up now that I'm completely in charge of it, since my friend - and the one I led the forum with - has left to pay for a mistake commited a year ago (I will start on how to raise the traffic in the forum as well, any suggestions thus far?). Besides that, me and the staff (a bunch of 17-22 years old really) are currently working on a new website, so we go from just a forum to an actual website (More updates on that later) The forum led me to hold a couple of seminars and speak in a couple of events. Which led me to the DECISION of starting my own club in University - one dedicated to Personal Growth, of course. I'm still waiting for approval, so I'll get back to you on that one. I'm REALLY hoping it gets approved, it will enable me to get more known and get more traffic on the site, and by the time I'm running the club in my university, I'll have a GOOD website to back me up (one completely detached from how to get good with girls, but rather focused on modern life). This summer my focus is to get a more in-depth experience on how to work with children. It's not easy. I have worked with teens and adults many times (coaching them in sales, I've been in sales for 1.5 year) but only once with a group of children. So I need to gain more experience on that, that's why I worked on a project for the school system, presented it to principals and now heading to volunteer as a mentor. At the same time, I need to boost my website's productivity up (help?) and work on ideas for the club (if it gets approved) So that's it really. Thanks to Steve's Article on DO IT NOW (which I read and re-read about 10 times), I have time for doing that, social life, work out, even watching the Lakers Games Ok, back to the Lakers Game | |
