Default BBC's Planet Earth

I've seen the movie version of the documentation series "Planet Earth" yesterday and found it very impressive and moving. I encourage everyone to watch it - I think it's important to remind ourselves of the beauty of our planet, and the responsiblity we have for how we treat the world. It's easy to forget about that in everyday life, where you're more worried about things like money and other artificial concepts.

Also, it provides everything you could want from a movie: beautiful pictures, funny and heart-warming moments, sad moments, tragedy and satisfaction.

I don't know whether this runs in US cinemas, but I found the original series on DVD (no affiliate link). I think this would make a great present, too. If you have kids, watch it together with them. It's a great favor you can do for them and the world.

My favorite is the deep sea and the caves. These two, in my opinion, have the strangest creatures of all the episodes.

I like watching about the bizzare and extreme forms of life on this planet - it's amazing to see what's possible.

Default My favorite was the swimming elephants...

I loved the show, watched every episode but the one that sticks is the swimming elephants they actually looked like they were having fun. My big question is how brave was the person that got the shot...

yes. throughout my young life i was intensely interested in bizarre and extreme lifeforms that dwell at oceans bottom. as i grew up, this interest invariably led me to seek out the bizarre and extreme humans and lifestyles that dwell in refuges and dark corners of urban and rural settings alike.

i found snakemen, vampires, shadow walkers, ghosts, satyrs, faeries, monks, wizards and shaman, and humans with angel and demon shards.

i no longer seek aberations of form and those living in exile from the system. now i seek the beauty of life and it's perfection.

this new interest led to a greater appreciation of the other planet earth episodes, such as forest, mountain and shallow sea.

I agree - I'm coming from a "What's possible" frame - not some goth identification with rejected outcasts or something. Hahaha
