Hey guy's I've been doing the whole internet marketing thing for a while now. A little over a year. Currently I have two websites that bring me in a little bit of money per month. Nothing drastic by any means. So I've been doing some research and I think the best route to go is selling information products. Infact, I know this is the best route to go. I am going to create 2-3 kick ass informational products that I know have a market and price them between 10-15 dollars. Some quick math tells me that if I can sell these products at an average of 12 dollars profit to 65,000 people I will have 800,000 dollars. Factor in adsense and similar programs and I'm close to a million. Obviously this is very ambitious. To reach that amount of people...and sell that many products is going to take a great product and even smarter marketing campaign. Any advice/wisdom would be greatly appreciated. |

Sounds good to me... information products are always valuable especially when they deal with health/wellness or technology. Don't market them with the intent to get rich though, you want to produce quality products that you actually put good effort in to- you have to want to help people. Good luck with your projects! P.S. $12 profit seems a bit much... what is your product and who is producing it for you? I know for books a profit is only like $2-4 |

Provide something of value and have a solid marketing plan. A million is a nice goal but to get to that level you will need 1) Time to grow the business organically or 2) Seed money to scale your business by leveraging resources i.e. spending money on marketing, development and operations. You can make a million but it might cost you 999,999 to get there |

Scumbag! With all due respect... your approach is all wrong... you want to build a bridge... and so you're looking for a river... or more succinctly... you want a million dollars and you are looking for a way of obtaining it... You... and about a billion other guys are using the same approach... and, in 99.99999999% of the cases... it won't work... What you need to do is find something that you are totally excited about... something that turns you on even more than sex with ten top models... something that you can throw yourself head first into and that wild horse could not tear you away from... You find that passion... and you will not earn a million... but many of them... you keep your approach... and you'll just stand in line.... there is a million guys ahead of you... Sorry to be so blunt... but... that's what real life is all about... been there... done that... . |

The way to start is to start small! You can think about BB but you must aim at first buck, first 100$ profit, only after that will you be able to think about first thousand, first ten thou, first 100K, first 500k, first million.. But... i don't want to put you down, who knows maybe you have what it takes to make MM in one lump sum! | |

I have to say I agree 1000% with Shamou. I've been a "money chaser" for way too many years, and I can personally attest to the fact that it does not work. Make it your goal to find your passion and then go from there. This is the phase I'm in right now. I've pretty much given up on everything web/business related for now and I'm focused on figuring out what I truly love to do. Believe me -- that's no easy task when you've lost touch with it for as long as I have. I recently got a new job working from a home office and doing work I really love. The type of work I'm doing now could very well be my passion; time literally seems to stand still when I'm doing it. But.... I still need to figure out where I want that to take me in 5, 10, 20 years and beyond. Best of luck and much success! Dave |

Scumbag, most of the promotion will probably take place online so you should look at different ways you can do that. Obviously you can use google ads, and buy targeted ads on related sites. Another things that's very important is just talking to people. You can get involved in forums and blogs that related to the subject matter, or even start your own blog, and mention your e-book when it's relevant and helpful. The point isn't to do like some people on these forums who just go in and say "click on this link and you'll make a million dollars" - that annoys people and makes you look bad, although I'm sure a few get suckered in to it. If you're a visible member of a community and you let it be known that you're selling something of interest to other members that will help you. You can also build relationships with people who have a greater reach. If you really have a good product find some top blogs in that area and strike up an email conversation with the authors to let them know it's available and see what they think. You can even start your own blog and have posts going back and forth between them. Another way to get free publicity is to do something unusual - if it's really interesting, sites that have nothing to do with your subject will link to you and some people passing through will be interested. Doing stuff like this helps in two ways - you build awareness of your product, and you get feedback. Not all of it will be useful but the feedback could be more valuable than a few referrals in the long run. |
