| Just wondering how many investors made use of the opportunity to buy some cheapish shares during the past week or so? If only I had some spare cash I definitely would have bought some bargains. Especially anything in the ASX (australian stock exchange) top 50.

| i'm going to buy more of EEM (ishares emerging markets etf) in October. And i'm scouting some individual stocks or etfs to buy now. I live in Canada so a lot of our financials got hit hard due to the mess down south, but they have rock-solid fundamentals and therefore are at a bargain right now. A lot of sector etf's are looking good too. All of the neglected ones (in favor of materials and energy lately) are going to come up sooner or later. In general, I believe a lot of good securities have been buffeted by the recent "correction" for no reason other than general panicking by the investing population. Therefore, there are numerous bargains to be had, like some of the financial companies that have been hit. They are sure to come back up when things settle down again. |

| Is there a good resource to find how different sectors, or better yet which etfs and sector funds, have faired over the past 1 and 2 years? I think it would be a great experiment to simply invest in a couple of "2 year" worst performers.

| I'm a big fan of Google, but I would never own their stock. Their business is too fragile. How hard would it be for its customers to switch to another search engine? There are so many new search engine start-ups gunning for Google's market that many people could start making the switch soon. |
