| Last week I found an auction on eBay with over 100 bids. Statistically, anytime you have an auction with 30 or more bids, eBay will call this a Hot Category, and your bids spiral upwards. Here’s a system for getting numerous bids selling simple “information type” products. You can tweak and tune it depending on what you sell. The first day of the auction is the most important. Buy the best exposure you can for your item. Your goal is to get 30 bids as quickly as you can. The best time to list is Saturday morning around 7AM EST. Since you want your greatest exposure your first day, drive bidders to your auctions early. Contact your mailing list, and offer free shipping or some other premium for bidding early. The trick is to get things moving quickly. If you can get your auction up to 30 bids by Sunday night, you’ll have a week of smoking’ hot exposure in the “Hot” category!
