Default Wall Street (1987) - Great film!

I decided to watch the Wall Street DVD again this afternoon. :-)

SUCH a great film! Gordon Gecko is a screen legend, I kinda liked his attitude even though he was made out to be the bad guy.

So many memorable quotes but mine has to be the "Greed" speech and "Lunch is for wimps".

Have any of you guys seen the film? What are your thoughts on it? It ranks in my top 10 films of all time.

I must have viewed Wall Street more than twenty times... Gordon Gekko has been an inspiration for me...

Here is the famous speech...

"The point is, ladies and gentlemen, that: Greed, for lack of a better word, is good. Greed is right; greed works. Greed clarifies, cuts through, and captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit.

Greed, in all of its forms, greed for life, for money, for love, knowledge — has marked the upward surge of mankind and greed, you mark my words — will not only save Teldar Paper but that other malfunctioning corporation called the USA."

Great movie. Interesting trivia - a german broker (Consors) had a tv commercial years ago staring Michael Douglas, obviously as Gordon. You see a guy in an elevator, the door opens and Douglas steps in. The guy asks Gordon: "Are you going up?" and Gordon looks at him in complete disbelieve and says: "Where else would I go?" Very well done.

Another good movie about trading (although not as good as Wall Street) is HighSpeedMoney based on the book Rogue Trader by Nick Leeson.

No, the Greed Speech is not a sarcasm but a reality. Greed is good! Unless of course untill you get consumed by i completely... well anything in excess is bad for your spiritual and body health.
Balance is key point!

BTW i love being greedy for more love and money.. but that does not mean i like freebies, love and money need input from my creative self...
