Hey,
I know this isn't one of the best forums to post about this but I'd like to just ask. I want to start drawing and stuff as a hobby after I start working. I just want to know which programs people use besides photoshop and painter. I'd want to make moving animations besides still art. I know a wacom pad comes handy for it. Just want to know whats the best program for animated illustration.

Flash for certain types of animations, especially web based ones. I'm not entirely sure what you mean by animation. 3D animations? or just regular 2D animations?

definitely not 3d animation, that takes way too much time. I'd like to do something you'd see on tv. I know flash but it seems very limited. Some cartoons I've seen on cartoon network like aqua teen hunger force definitely uses flash. I was just wondering if there are any other ones out there. Google doesn't help in this situation lol.

There's After Effects by Adobe, which is a sort of compositing/animation/program whcih is pretty pro. There's also discreet Combustion, which costs a helluva lot more.

Do you have any examples of stuff that you'd like to replicate? Even point something out, there's a variety of programs for a variety of functions. HTH.

i was thinking some old skoo things like tom n gerry, scooby doo stuffs. Still background and moving people.
