Default Making Money On The Side

Hello

I've got a decent job where I, technically, make a sufficient amount of money. I'm generally satisified with my income, but I tend to feel an urge to make more - regardless of how high my salary goes. There seems to never be enough money.

Now, I'm not interested in combating this urge - regardless of its rationality (or lack thereof). I am simply interested in knowing if any of the smart people on these forums have any tips on how to generate some extra income.

There are two points I'd like to mention:
  • I work with managing a huge organization, and therefore I'll have a utility issue if the salary is too low. It's not my intention to be picky, but I am not interested in selling newspapers on Sundays.
  • Also, I live in Norway, so I imagine some of the offers available in the U.S. aren't necessarily applicable.

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

The go-to method of earning extra income that is talked about on these forums is typically an SBI-like approach to starting an online business, since online businesses can be created from the ground up with a relatively very low cost.

That would be my advice to pretty much anyone who wants to start earning an income on the side.

A website can be a good idea if you have a unique perspective on a topic, are passionate about it, and/or know how to make it work.

I enjoy my website. It earns me less per hour of work than my primary job, but it's a very rewarding creation so far. And it brings in a few thousand dollars worth of side income.

Selling articles TO newspapers (and other publications) is one idea I'm toying with.

I would be writing articles on developments in my industry (i.e. stuff I already know and have to deal with at work). Writing and selling the articles not only makes me some money but also helps to bolster my professional reputation.
