Default Young, Living at Home? What's

next?

Things are bad. For older people as well as for the young. When searching for directions you must consider a skill and the possibility of self-employment. The only true venue for entrepreneurship is joining forces with a big corporate entity.
These big corporation, loath them or love them, are in need for partners such as content providers (in case of online business), independent contractors (as IT, Web or professional skills (such as plumbing or security/cable/SatTV installers)
Being truly independent is harder than ever, but instead for asking for a fat paycheck(good luck with that!) and security (that is non-existent anyway) you might want to reconsider and become a partner and see you wallet getting fatter.

What? I disagree with that whole heatedly. I think your perspective is more applicable to freelance professionals...who would also be considered entrepreneurs in the sense that they work for themselves, and carry risk. But I don't know any entrepreneur who strives to sidle up to big corp, unless they're selling them a product (not a service).

Entrepreneurs want to own income producing channels, we do work and provide service leading up to a tipping point, but the goal is to write yourself out of the mechanics of the income machine and eventually be in a position of oversight / leadership only.

In corporate America there is the Intrepreneur now, similar breed, but they work on initiatives within the umbrella of a large corporate company. This is especially common in tech companies.

4. You win that game. I don't see it validating the statement though. That's like saying you understand trees better because you have been on the earth longer, with no regard to biology education.

Augmenting my 4 years self employment income, I've been a part of big government for 11.5, solely because I couldn't enlist until I was 17, and I can tell you that no entrepreneur aspires to "work" for that big corp, or big gov. Maybe sell to them...but hardly be a tradesman all their lives. What happens when you stop working? It all stops.
