Default Freelance sites??

Hi guys,

I was using Fiverr.com to make video testimonials and helping companies explain a process, product, etc. that are very professional in quality and my buyers LOVED the final product (a link is below). I've made about $200 which sounds great BUT the time it takes to produce is worth much more than $5. In fact I think I'm going to stop the Fiverr because the effort isn't worth money I'm getting.

Are there sites where I can post my services? Freelance sites so to speak?

Clix-Cents - YouTube

Thanks,
Ron

I found a site called https://www.odesk.com.

Something like this might fit the bill but wanted some options from my fellow forum contributors. Thanks!

I've tried odesk and elance as well, but now I'm doing all my freelance work via peopleperhour.co.uk

I'm not sure, but I remember when I was looking for a video to be made professionally, and I couldn't find one on elance - because its for everything (all kinds of servers).

I decided to Google it and find someone from there - and ended up doing it myself.

But what I suggest is that you setup your own website, and offer these services, and do some keyword research to rank for people looking for such services.

Its a longer process to some extent, but you won't regret it if you work on it over time and participate in forums talking about it, with your website link at the signature part.

Thanks Agota,

I went to that site. How do I promote my service on that site? It looks like I could post a job for freelancers to bid on but is it possible to post my work for organizations to find me?

Thanks,
Ron

Thanks Humancare...I was considering going the website route...<sigh>

Now I need to create one, promote it, etc. I was hoping for a Fiverr type site (because it get's the traffic) but one where I could charge say $50 to make a video (which is reasonable considering my work paid an ad company to do theirs with similar results to my work and they paid over $5000)..lol

Nop, I don't think so, it's employers post jobs and freelancers bid on them.

This is the way most freelancing sites work.

I second the suggestion to make your own website

I found the perfect job on there for me but the bidding is restricted to the UK....darn!

It looks like it's time to build a site...oh joy

hi ron
I use odesk myself and i can recommend it, but there is a huge range of people there so if you are going to employ someone it will really take some time maybe to find a good employee
otherwise if you wanna offer services yourself then its a good place

but i am a little bias because i didn't really try any other site, i used this one and i stayed with it

You would benefit greatly from building your own site, whilst still trying out other freelance type sites - because after a few years, at least your client base will be working with you via your website, rather than always via client base.

Have you tried eBay? sometimes there are possibilities that you can make money from there.

Hey,

Freelance sites are not really the place for people to promote themselves as much as it is for employers to find staff.

As you have done so much work already from Fiverr, I would suggest you create your own website, get testimonials and samples and then advertise in internet marketing forums, such as WarriorForum, DigitalPoint, WickedFire etc. as these are the people that actively seek it and you can create your own thread (some are paid).

All the best.
