Hi, I normally don't post over in this section. To make a long story short, after over a decade of working for someone in their home, I need to get back out into the real world of working. Everything's changed so much since, even the way you write a resume. Even using 1 space after a period, not two. It's been very overwhelming. I finally put my resume in to a few places yesterday and today. It's just very overwhelming, so I was hoping for a little, you can do it girl... I am still with my company, but I stopped taking clients in April. Took the summer off to just be a mom and enjoy my daughter while she still thinks I'm cool. Spent most of September getting caught up on house stuff. |

What do you want to do? This may be counterintuitive, but the more specific you get, the easier it is to find a job. | |

Thanks. I hope so. I'm switching from hands on health care to preferably office work. Medical office work is fine. I just don't want to see anymore suffering or have to deal with bodily fluids anymore. I've had way more than my fair share of that. |

I'm sure you'll do great! If you can handle bodily fluids, you'll fly through the job search. I would suggest you set goals and a realistic timeline. You want to get out there as soon as you're rested and able, otherwise you'll fall into a rut. Use the first few job interviews as practice. If you don't get the jobs don't worry because you might not have come across perfectly, so don't let them get you down. Getting hired right off is a fluke anyway. Set yourself some specific goals each day, not general ones: 1. Apply to two office positions 2. Apply to one medical related 3. Apply to one practice interview type job 4. Make 1 call back to previous interview These are of course general and would depend on what's available in your area. You might do more it there's time and availability. Good luck! |

I think I'm as rested as I will be for now. I took the summer off to rest up, enjoy my daughter while she still likes me, lol. Took September to get caught up on house projects, then took October to rest, heal, work on the resume.
