Default trying to start an investment club

Hi guys:

I'm looking to start an investment club that would meet biweekly/monthly over skype to review investment ideas. Focus would be public equities and potentially bonds/actively managed mutual funds.

My idea is to assign people to industry teams (e.g. retail team, restaurants team, mining team etc.). Each team would choose a company in their sector they thought was good investment and pitch to the group during meetings.

I'd like to research to be fairly quantitative. Meaning the basis for most of the evaluation would be discounted cash flow based valuations of the stocks people like.

Any interest in this?

Thanks
Bigfoot

I think it's a good idea and might be interested, but I would question whether Skype is the right venue. It seems to me that any sort of quantitative analysis is better written than as a pitch. So a forum could be better. It would also decrease the need to be on at the same time.

I would love to participate...but with a lack of currency i can use right now i cannot invest. But may i ask if i can study and research some areas to look into? Maybe take notes? Everyone i know thinks i am good with money, and i agree. But i would like to know what fields to put into later in my life.

okay lets do it. I will pm you my personal email and send some materials on DCF. Want to look at netflix right now. Stock is down massively and I have a hunch it is a fairly good place at current pricing.

Thanks

What with their customer base rapidly shrinking, expectations of losses through 2012, and a share price that still prices in pretty substantial growth from before they lost customers, I'm thinking there's plenty of time to analyze that one...

I wouldnt mind this, however I think a forum would be better as its easier to pitch the investment and it allows people like myself who has a rather unpredictable schedule to still be apart of the group. I actually just got done doing some write ups for my personal investment accounts let me know you are serious about this
