I like this one: loseitveggiestyle.com I'm not currently your target audience, but it's possible that I could be (I've thought about trying vegetarianism for some time, and have already cut way back on meat consumption, and, hey, I can stand to lose some weight The reason I like it is it's kinda fun sounding, and I like the idea of doing it "veggie style" (I have a dirty sense of humour; it brings all kinds of fun thoughts to my rather warped mind |

That said, I am not a fan of multi-word domains that don't have dashes in between them. This is because they are usually very annoying to read. So I would advise: vegetarian-weight-loss-[insert anything].com [insert anything]-vegetarian-weight-loss.com If possible, combine multiple primary keywords. Maybe something like: vegetarian-weight-loss-guide.com vegetarian-weight-loss-diet.com vegetarian-weight-loss-plan.com vegetarian-weight-loss-recipes.com Some of these are keywords that Google auto-suggests when you start typing the original keyword, so they would probably be decent choices for domain names.

| That's pretty long. And people often find hyphens to be confusing and hard to remember. With luck, it won't matter, because you'll be able to get good search engine rank and people will find you that way and then bookmark you, but it's not exactly intuitive as domain names go. |

Are you targeting search engines or word-of-mouth referrals? Both have a huge power behind them that is not to be underestimated. If you're targeting search engines, then sure, hyphenate all you want. If you want people to come back to your website as long-time readers though, dashes are a big no-no. Dashes give me a sense that this is a website out to get revenue and sell me something. Instead, try to give me a sense of personality and snazziness and the idea that this is a website out to provide value to me, even if your intention is to make money. www.loseitveggiestyle.com has that appeal in it. When people see pure keywords (perfect-vegetarian-weight), the game's out. The savvy ones will recognize that they've been specifically targeted, not cordially invited to a dinner. When people see a memorable creative domain name, plus the title of the search result is promising them good value, they will not only click on the search result, they'll come back too. Technically, if you provide quality content that people have a hard time forgetting and violate expectations by outworking other people and by giving tons of value away for free, it will not matter what domain name you have. stevepavlina.com certainly has no keywords out of the dictionary and yet it's doing well both with search engines and with people. If your aim is to sell a product, then having a keyword domain name is helpful. Your business model will depend on first-time visitors from search engines who decide to buy your own product or an affiliate product. If your aim is to build a reputable resource, then having a creative domain name works best. It sets you apart from the crowd. It identifies you. Your business model will depend on giving away value for free and building traffic from long-term readers. You will still make money through affiliate products, your own products, or advertising, but the approach will be different. I strongly believe that the second approach works best. It's more human when you write for people, it's more sustainable when you build a long-term readership, and oftentimes, it's more rewarding when you sell a product later on that you readers will trust is good. I know you already bought your domain name. That's not the end of the world. You can always buy another one if you're serious about the second option. However: Even if you choose to go with the second option, loseitveggiestyle.com is simply too long. It may seem like it's only 5 characters longer than this website, but the problem is that you're using four words and Steve is using only two. People think in words, so people will think of your domain name in four words, which automatically makes it seem longer and more cumbersome. Limit yourself to two words. Avoid adding a third word "the". Use http://instantdomainsearch.com for ultimate ease. Here are a few ideas. Remember, we're not focusing on keywords, we're focusing on a memorable, creative brand that represents your style. veggieloss.com veggieweight.com vegetablestyle.com perfectvegetarian.com floatingvegetable.com floatingveggies.com lightveggies.com Don't worry about not having the keyword "vegetarian", "weight", or "loss" in there. Search engines aren't dumb. They figured out Steve, they'll figure out you. Again, this advice only applies if you're going with the second option. If you're going with the first option, then you're in a good position. I hear that search engines actually like hyphens in a domain name full of keywords. However, perfect-vegetarian-loss isn't your best bet. The "perfect" bit is a creative word choice. It is not a word people would search for. Again, in this scenario, we're not worrying about whether people will type it in or be intrigued by a creative title. We're fully targeting good keywords. For example: lose-weight-vegetarian.com weight-loss-vegetarian.com vegetarian-weight.com vegetarian-loss.com You're targeting your best keywords in the ones above and giving yourself the best possible shot for succeeding with SiteBuildIt. Good luck. |

If your website provides good content, then nobody will care what the website name is. And the purpose of SBI's SEO techniques is to get search engine traffic anyways, so it really doesn't matter. Word-of-Mouth traffic sounds like a terrible marketing plan to me, unless your website is operating in a specific niche where that type of marketing is somehow more effective than search engine placement.
