Giving Myself a Pat on the Back

Reached a milestone in my quest for web presence for my music. 150 twitter followers and 50 Facebook fans, both within a few days of each other, both after about a year of wavering but consistent effort and learning. I've ramped up my effort and knowledge significantly in the past few months (largely due to going full-time as a musician) and have seen that pay off. I've found that real-world networking bears the biggest fruit, generally, but some of my most important business relationships originated on the internet. Treating the internet as an extension of the real world (as opposed to delegitimizing interactions because they happened over the internet and creating a divide between internet and 'real life') is important. This is what I will continue to do moving forward, and may the next 100 followers/fans come more easily!

- tweeting about trending topics
- starting conversations with others
- having a core group of tweeters consistently tweeting at each other
- tweeting regularly
- being patient

but most importantly, have something interesting to say.
