Please your feedback on my new website

Hi,
I'm unsure where to start this topic and I’ve figured here’s the right place to post it.
I've launched my website a few days ago. And I'd be glad to get your positive or negative feedback.
And probably you have some suggestions for me. I hate to write about myself, but I had to do it on the website. I've not still made a decision about to put my personal photo or not there. I'm very interested in opinion of people who have personal websites/blogs which are dedicated to their goals/dreams. I'm an open person, but I always feel discomfort to share my problems with others. And it's why I had been thinking to create the website for the last 3 months, but i started it now.

Definitely get a clear, unphotoshopped photo, with you smiling with sea in the background and upload it to your website - it makes your site feel more authentic. Within minutes of changing my avatar to the photo I have right now, two people from these forums made comments on the articles on my website. I am probably getting more traffic because of it too.

Share your little successes and solutions then. And why do you hate writing about yourself? You're a radiant being taking on an exciting, new endevor. Love yourself for it, and others will too.

Thanks for your response.
Well, I think you're right, without a photo the site will look inanimatily. I'll add one.
Probably, that's the part of my character - no speak about myself much. It's not because i have the difficult nature, no. It's because everyone has his own problems. So why trying to draw people attention to yourself if you can give them nothing instead of this.

P.S. No use google translator for names. My name is Женя and not Гена. Anyway, this doesn't matter much really.

it is right away: peaceful & calm. You share much
information about one of your passions... Good job!

It's better than a lot of the disorganized blogs you see out there. Nevertheless, there's a few things you can improve:


About AdSense:

• Be warned that you can't have AdSense like that. You can't encourage your visitors to click on the ads in any way. One of the ads has "Enjoy my Site" above it and this is not allowed. Writing "Sponsored Ads" in there is a much better idea.
• As per Google's TOS, you need to have a Privacy Policy on your website that states that AdSense gives you revenue. Just Google Adsense Privacy Policy Generator and you can quickly get one.
• You will get a decent clickthrough with your current AdSense Layout; It's blended well with the website, but it isn't by any means perfect.

Other Stuff:

• I find that people prefer the normal Facebook/Twitter/Google +1/Stumble Upon Like buttons more than anything else. Your buttons aren't standard and a lot of people won't recognize them.
• It's also good to have the buttons above and below the content. Check any blog post on Steve's website for an example of how to do this correctly--although Steve himself is missing Delicious and Reddit.

Your permalink structure is good though. You don't have funny links and your link structure seems fine.

Less ads... on the left there is a widget with ads but the name says Enjoy my Site... leave the right side full of banners, don't overload the site.


Also add a good picture from Flickr in the main text. Design is a bit boring now...

DBV, Thank you. Really, that's not my adsense stuff. My site ad space being under a lease. That guy has used the space for his adsense account.

I like your idea with a picture. I'll add a small pic for every category in the main page.

Well get rid of it.. def. too many ads. It's your site so you decide how much ads you sell. I meant you need a better banner and a main pic above the text. Then have a picture in each post you do when blogging
