I have started a forum for people suffering from fear, panic and anxiety, and was wondering about promoting Steve's products and workshops there. Does he have an affiliate program in place? I went to the product page but didn't find one available.

I don't think it would really be feasible for Steve to offer an affiliate program for his products. In the first place, what he offers changes frequently enough so that it would double the administrative burden to maintain an affiliate program on top of his own offerings. Second, Steve doesn't offer the types of products that work well with affiliate marketing. He certainly doesn't need help filling his workshop slots, and at this point his book is self-marketing.

It's probably because Steve has two products: his book and his workshops. There's not much point in setting up an affiliate program for a book, because Amazon can do that for you and there's not much point setting up an affiliate program for his workshops, since all the slots are filled anyway. I think once Steve releases downloadable products he has been talking about few months ago there will be a chance of being an affiliate |

I see Amazon as an online bookstore, but an affiliate program is about marketing and spreading the word. I don't see Amazon actually being about promotion as much as about simply offering a "platform" or marketplace (arguably the biggest one, to be sure, but no marketing as such). I'm curious what you see that I don't! | |

I wouldn't create an affiliate program for my book (published paper book, not an e-book), because people can recommend it on their blogs and get their share from every sale by using Amazon's affiliate program. This is the way most people recommend books on their websites: they don't look for an affiliate program set up by author, they simply join Amazon and recommend books using their affiliate program. That's what I meant I'd set up an affiliate program for an e-book, though. I didn't mention that option because Steve doesn't sell e-books as far as I know |
