Stuck waiting - need feedback+, please.

I read Steve's 33 rules volume 2 this morning, numbers 9, 11, and 19 stood out. I have unsubbed from some lists today based on those suggestions, a big thing for me.

Then I read Bruce's post here:33 Rules to Boost Your Productivity (Blog), where he notes "Seriously though, if you cannot reach your goal, take a different route -- the one you're using is no good. If you see no other routes around you, ask someone who isn't stuck in the maze to scout for one from their perspective (ie. make a thread about it in the forum and list what you’re trying to do, what you’ve done, why it hasn’t worked, and ask people to give their feedback)."

I need some new routes to bring in work and money, at least for the next three or four months. I am not looking for a get rich quick scheme, but something I can start for "cheap" and expand.

I worked fairly steadily full time from when I was 18 to when I was laid off in February 2003. Always before I had been able to work as a full time temp when between permanent jobs, but since then the bottom's dropped out. I managed to get a half-time temp job for approximately a year, then another one for six months that ended when I was fired in March of 2006. Nothing since then - I worked for almost two days somewhere late in the year, do not remember when.

Neither 2004 nor 2006 were good years emotionally, I went with the flow thinking that I wasn't getting much or any work because I was dealing with other things. I went on interviews and did well on most, but never got accepted. Finally I gave up and concentrated on school -finished my Masters in February 2007, called the temporary agencies back up, and nothing. At least every two weeks, usually every week, I have called them as requested.

In July we are going to graduation, plus to see friends and family and other things - I did my degree online from Phoenix, and it will likely be the only time we will ever get that far out west. We are also getting ready to move (a very very long long story - have to wait until the other house is ready, fit 3 houses into one after living here around 20 years, and so on.)

I will have to find a job when we get back, because August is stretching the limit before starting student loan repayments, which will be close to two weeks worth of the normal pay around here.

I know I have to, at least for a while, but going back to the full time job straightjacket is not appealing. I am open to learning about and working on multiple streams of income and working at home/on the computer. I found a forum where I can get paid for content creation/forum posting, and I have also looked at surveys, but I obviously need some other routes as well.

I dislike being such a burden on the family; I am in a catch-22. At this moment, I need to help pay for the bills that we have, the trip, and some spending money.

I feel like I'm doing nothing but hopelessly and helplessly waiting for something to happen outwardly. I have spent a lot of time working inwardly - belief and ideas shifts, clearing and cleaning loads of mental clutter, in at least the past months. I am going down for the second time here - do not want to make a third.

I would really appreciate some feedback, both for now and for after we return in July.

What field(s) do you have experience in? What is your new degree in? What are you good at?
