I have a website in my name and it's been more than 3 months and I have just written one blog article. I'm just not feeling to write anything. But now, I am planning to covert it into a vlog. I am planning to interview normal to famous people and place those videos in my site. I think I would really love it. I need your opinions on this. Does it sound interesting? I will also be posting those videos to youtube. Right now I just have a 3 megger camera, but planning to buy a good one if this goes on well. I need your honest opinions on this. Thanks |

Check out mixergy.com if you haven't. It's basically a guy who interviews people about their businesses. The videos are free while they're new, and then he monetizes for archive access once you've gotten hooked on the free ones.

There is already Business Tips for Successful Startups is great and similar one is therisetothetop.com. And these are big ones, there are tons smaller ones.. so it's not something unique really. You gotta put a spin on it, or choose a niche topic that is very focused etc..

I have a mix of media in my blog and put out a video show called Motivational WebTV every 2 weeks or so. Whenever I do have a new episode, it's embedded at my homepage of my website, on my Multimedia page of the same website as well as on a separate blog post. The blog post has more text included since it's better to have accompanying text for Google. The problem with video only posts is that they are hard to get indexed by Google. I just released episode 58 and I made sure that each video is part of a full text article. |

I could also suggest that there could be a niche for motivational interviews in fitness niche where you would be interviewing people who achieved body transformations and get them to share their story... that one could be very popular.. But you better be interested in working out yourself tho, so you knew what to ask, what to talk about... |

Normal to famous people? Hmm. That doesn't narrow it down much. Most people experience their lives as a random event. If you tell a story about a person, it must be a story, which means it has a point to it. In fact, most people don't experience their life like that, it's much more about ad hoc improvisation ("winging it", in the vernacular"). So, a story teller has to draw meaning out of a person's reminiscences. If you present a series of stories as an anthology, which is what you are suggesting, then there should be a theme. On another planet, the mere fact that they are all human beings might be interesting. Down here on earth, you have to find a reason for selecting the people you do. |

The idea sounds good to me, but it all depends on the way you'll actually implement it. I agree with others who say that you need to narrow down your niche: who's your target audience? Ramit Sethi has an awesome video about that from his Earn1k course, I really suggest you to watch it at How to Be Rich - Get Simple Tips On Personal Finance. At the end of the latest article, there's a subscription form, fill it and you'll get access to Ramit's video about defining your target market which is very good. Once you have watched the video and came up with three ideas for your interviews vlog, come back here, share your three ideas and see whether people are interested or not. Simple! |
