Default Blogging (More Comments, Finding Contacts)

For a little bit of background information, I've been blogging for about 7 months now. I've posted over 40 articles in that time period. I'm pretty happy with some of the personal comments I have received and the progress I have made in terms of clicks per day.

However, I'd really love to make more progress in these areas:
- Get more comments (opinions, advice, feedback, arguments, etc.)
- Have more people contact me personally (FB & e-mail)

A bit more information:
- Estonians are not very open, I don't know any other trainer who even has a blog here.
- The last thing I tried was including "What do you think about X? Please comment so everyone can learn from the discussion." at the end of my blog post. It produced one comment from over a hundred of clicks that day. I also posted my blog post on several sites where I encouraged them to share their thoughts on the topic.
- I added a Facebook badge on my blog recently. About 15 people have clicked it to see my Facebook page, but only one person has contacted me.

The blog is in Estonian, but if you are interested in the design and overview, my blog is here: Risto Uuk

All types of ideas are welcome. My current thought is just improving the content -- add new things such as interviews with coaches, videoblogs, more stories about my stuff (my studying, communications with experts, etc.). In other words, telling good stories about what I do.

Have you considered making a blog in English?

I mean, Baltic States rule, but we are simply to small to have a big enough audience in our languages..

Thanks for the comment!

I actually had an English blog for a while, but it felt wrong as I'm in Estonia myself right now. I mean, first of all, I want to enrichen the informative content in Estonian; second, I can meet people in person more easily here; third, there's nothing similar to my blog here, which makes me kind of unique. In the English language, I would compete with thousands. The third one is kind of negligible, because in English, I would have most of my Estonian readers + some International readers.

I would love to have a blog in both languages, but that would take way too much time. This is just too much of a dilemma...

I believe it depends on what you want from your blog.

In case you want it to be just a creative outlet, it's perfectly fine to have it in Estonian.

In case you want it to be your business and a reliable source of income, you'd probably be much better off having a blog in English.

You can obviously find a way to attract Estonians to your English blog as well, since I assume your target audience is mainly young people and young people understand English.

It all depends on what your intentions are with your blog

Great points!

I'm thinking about translating my best blog posts, removing those that are really bad from the older times and switch the whole blog into English...

While there are numerous was to build traffic with you blog, the fundamental issue is, IS there an audience? I am sure that you could install an english/ eston button or else have the site convert depending on where the IP address is located?

That being said, is there many blogs that are done in estonian?
