 Suggestions for naming our company Since the Pavlina community has some of the brightest people on the planet I figured I'd throw this out as a fun little contest of sorts. We're creating a platform to connect students and tutors over the Web and what we hope will become the first open marketplace for education. Our company name is Education Revolution, Inc. but we're planning to launch under a more consumer-friendly (and shorter!) name/URL. We want something that focuses on the learning nature of our site. Here are a few ideas we thought of to give you a sense of where we're going: smartr.com newgurus.com iGenius.com etc. The only requirements are that the domain name has to be available and the term can't be trademarked. Feel free to offer some suggestions here and if we end up using your name I'll buy you and a guest dinner at your favorite restaurant. P.S. I hope this post is in line with the guidelines of this site. If not, I apologize in advance and am fine with it being deleted.

| Thanks Mayo. Unfortunately geniz.com is already taken and we'd prefer not to have the buy the domain name from someone. If you have any suggestions for names that aren't taken please feel free to post them. Thanks!

| These are all really good. We've been thinking a lot about it lately and thinking that we want something that's pretty fun and playful. My co-founder thought that "smartypants.com" would be cool but unfortunately that's not available. Anything along those lines would be a great suggestion!

| Nerdtown seems available (and quite a few sites linking to the name too which is interesting! Geekstuff and Nerdspace are taken) Otherwise maybe names like: Evolveschool, EduRevv? (Edyoucate is taken! Blast, also Uwhizz, bummer, Geekfreak oh jeez same story, and Edustuff... sigh!) Obviously there's quite a few people who thought along the same lines... Brainwire? Oh NO! Taken.... Well Chairglued is available.... (I don't think most people learn standing)  Revvingit is available as well... Man I need a coffee now!  Good luck! Let us know what you decide |
