I have little motivation. I work in real estate and while this whole year, I haven't made too much money. A partner of mine made $75,000 USD this year, and while another partner of mine made more in the 6 digits. I always had this vision that I would be very successful. I always thought that I would be someone that did deals with Donald Trump and similar characters. I live in Miami and so I know I have opportunities to network with top people, only though, I never seem to be able to meet them. I don't have much to offer them. I don't have a degree in finance, and don't know enough about it either to be useful. My savings have ran out and I am on my last month or two of being able to float above water. I have little motivation because I have just seen my savings go away without much income coming in. Do I need to reread Think and Grow Rich or do Personal Power II to get a huge kick in my ass???? I want to work hard, but it seems like that's all I have been doing in the past year or two. Maybe I'm not working smart... because I've worked so hard and not seen the fruits of my labor, I have little motivation. In fact, I slept in late today because I didn't 'feel' like getting up. I am starting to feel like I'm going to be really depressed. I could use some advice to get out of my rut. Thanks all. |

One thing you don't mention is whether you use a mentor or not. Directly learning from people who are successful and seeing exactly what they are doing comparing to what you might not be doing is the key to success.

It sounds like you are putting a lot of pressure on yourself which is never good. I find that whenever I get into that state, I use more energy thinking about how I'm failing, than on actually doing something productive. The amount of energy I used to waste was incredible, I'm surprised I was even able to get out of bed in the morning. Really the change comes from when you change your state. I recommend you might want to take a little breather from this goal of getting rich. You will burn yourself out if you keep up like this, so give yourself permission to lie in bed all day tomorrow and give yourself permission not to work. I know this sounds strange. When I tried this, I had a very hard time letting go. I thought, but if I let go, I will admit and accept defeat and that I will never reach my goal. Quite the opposite happens. You will soon find that when you allow yourself to be lazy, you longer feel the need to be. It took me about 2 days of just letting go, before I felt a sudden surge of energy. And then all action came from a much more inspired place. I began to enjoy working towards my goals. I really recommend you do this. You will have a hard time letting go at first and you might be thinking "how long do I have to let go for until I become motivated again", but don't focus on that. Trust me, you will feel very recharged and energised if you just completely let go first and allow yourself to be as lazy as you want. |

Hello, All I wanted to say is maybe you're not having a good standpoint. You think you feel depressed cause you don't make as much money as you'd like to. But maybe you feel depressed cause you don't do what you really, deeply love. You can have a break and try to figure out what you really love. Maybe if you start doing what you're passionned about, you'll feel less depressed. With true love |

Wisdom and experience deposited into activity creates riches - not reading think and grow rich over and over. What you need to do is get going and start supplying the marketplace with good houses and start selling. You have seen your savings run out simply because you have no motivation - it's not the other way around. Find a way to reach out to many people with whatever you are selling. If you have no money, sell and then buy - if you have money, you can buy and then sell. Either way you will only reach success through depositing your knowledge into labor. A sale is not worth anything - but the little increase in skill that you gain from making that sale is invaluable. |
