Getting Media Attention

Hey friends,

I'm about to put together a HUGE list of media resources and contact email addresses/phone numbers.

But before I do... I wondered if anyone has got experience in doing this already? Or if there is already an online resource where I can look up media resources and get my message out there and attract a media frenzy.

I would really like to do this in the new year, so from 1 Feb 2012 onwards as I will be going full time as a dating coach in December this year and between now and then I'm just too busy with all my latest set of courses to get into this.

My ideas so far are as follows:

TV stations
TV programs/Shows
News Channels
Radio Stations
Magazines
Newspapers
Internet Blogs

Any more ideas?

Do something interesting.
It's really the core of the issue.

Two days ago I had a two hour in person interview with a journalist from German's biggest online newssite SPIEGEL ONLINE - Nachrichten. He tracked by down via facebook because I was the best person that he could find in Germany to talk about the quantified self movement.

I actually had great success with your method before in the same market. I arranged a dating conference in Denmark, and wrote press releases to many different journalists.

What I learned:

• Dating and how to get women is a great subject. Most media love it.
• Try to contact few relevant journalists in private instead of mail spam. CALL them, email is the worst solution.
• Be persistant.
• Afterwards, be more persistant
• Have a UNIQUE and INTERESTING angle. Even though much crap about dating is being released, people are getting tired of "6 Steps to get into the cute panties of her".
