Hey all! I recently decided to return to working on my learning skills website, and try to actually monetize it... I started working on this in February, but lost my motivation after I saw I wasn't getting nearly zero traffic(highest - around 23 for the month, last month)(despite creating content on my website, as well as article marketing). A few days ago I decided to return to working on this, only with abit more of a plan... 1. I started working on creating my own product, which I intend to sell through the website 2. I have a list of a few products I'd like to sell as an affiliate 3. I decided to try creating free videos, in addition to just writing information on the website, and have them point to my website So - a) what do you think about these ideas? b) can you give me suggestions on improving my website? (Better Learning for a Better Life | Master Student) c) do you have tips on promoting the website? e) could you give me your opinion on this test video I created, and tell me what you think about using such a video for promotion/as a product? (‪The Main Aspects of Learning‬‏ - YouTube) Thanks! bluelight |

The ideas are sound. Just make sure that you have a lot of valuable info on your website in order to get traffic. As for traffic and other things related to websites, I compiled some of the website tools I use. Some of them will be very helpful to you.

Your startpage doesn't tell my anything interesting and doesn't tell me where I should go next. Don't reinvent the wheel. Go with an established way of organising your website. It could be the Site Build It layout or a simple blog layout. Your current organisation isn't working. |

Do you think moving to a blog layout would help? I was trying to go for an SBI layout... I originally actually built it based on their guide(when they provided it for free on their website... I couldn't/still can't afford to buy from them).

You have a recent post list. You have a Best of StevePavlina.com list. You have a Categories list. If I'm a new visitor I might find on of headline in those lists interesting and go there. Look at the way it's structured at Tim Ferriss page: The Blog of Author Tim Ferriss It easy for a new visitor to click on a link to an interesting post. | |

Well one thing good... I love your domain name... very catchy and easy to remember... Perhaps the best improvement you can make to that site is to include an opt-in form so you can collect leads to follow up on. Check out my personal development blog to see what I mean... I've placed them in a couple of strategic places. |

hey man nice job! i can see you've put some work in... here's a couple ideas: 1. put a box on the home page or on sidebar that says where to start. here's an example: Passive Income: The Smart Passive Income Blog 2. if you have a lot of sub menus why not put them up top so you can navigate the whole site at once? (i like this but other people may not though) - while i am no expert at website design, i have them on my website Guitar Kitchen – Home – Lessons and Ideas about music 3. i would suggest increasing the font size and making the text in a narrower column - Steve has this and it is a lot easier to read - maybe something like 500px instead of 750px... 4. i'm not an expert on link building but i would suggest finding study forums so you can post expert advice. also i would suggest having an about section that shows that you have some expert knowledge in the area. in other words that shows people that they should follow your advice. 5. here's a fully formed study/personal development blog - Scott H Young - can probably get a lot of good ideas there! hope this helps! i like what you've done so far and look forward to seeing how you grow your site! |
